So, there's a market here? Well. I can't let that get wasted.Darla peered into the soundstage, eyes narrowing at the darkness. It had actually not been that long since she'd been to Paris, but--well, this seemed a bit different. Ah, well. Regardless, if there was an opportunity for her, she'd exploit it. Without a second thought, the woman strolled in, her calfskin boots making little noise, and toying with the cigarette holder in her hand. "Hello...?" she called, sweetly. "Anyone home?" ((Oh, I've got an idea of how to have Darla in all of her ages...sorta like that...))

Ed clapped his hands together and beamed at Mary.
"I think so!" he agreed. "The ruins you told me about are perfect--we'll hardly have to do anything. And costumes are on schedule... Everything's coming together!"
There wasn't anything better than embarking on a new production; Edward knew no great feeling in the world.
He turned at the new voice, smiling in his habitual friendly and overbearing manner. "Hi!" he called. He was surprised to see another young-looking girl in blond sausage curls. Considering Mary's condition, he wasn't about to make any assumptions. "Can I help you?"

((Ah, sorry to be unclear, I'd just had her in mind for now in adult form...)) Darla noticed the "little" girl he was talking to, and was rather surprised by the resemblance to her at that age; no doubt she was another star. Hmm...well, she was targeting a different demographic at the moment, but still, she'd keep an eye on that one. None of these thoughts showed on her face, which remained warm and kind, and she played with a curl now idly as she spoke. "Well, hello, Mr....Wood, was it?" Why does that name seem so familiar? "The name is Darla Dimple." She whipped out a business card, pink and gold, and gave a nod to the girl.

((Oh sorry, sorry, should have picked up on that.))
Edward took the card, and held out his hand, gratified that someone knew him. "Edward D. Wood Jr," he clarified, not to correct her but to be more precise. "But you can call me Ed, Edward, anything you like. Miss Dimple? It's a pleasure, a real pleasure." She looked familiar, and striking.

Darla shook, her grasp fairly firm and sure, and smiled some more. "Well, apologies. I'm certain the pleasure is all mine then, Ed." It was, too; he could help her get work, just like old L.B. "You might remember me--I was in a lot of pictures back in the Forties. 'America's Sweetheart', you know!" She giggled.

Instead of letting go, Edward smiled wider and pumped her hand again.
"Of course!" he cried. "Sure, I remember you. Gosh, it sure is an honor." And she'd grown up swell. Not that he was comparing her to Mary--it didn't even occur to him to. He was just tickled, as he usually was by meeting famous people of the movie variety.

For most people, this would be slightly irritating, but Darla was not only used to such stunts, she craved this kind of attention.
She chuckled again, in smug mode as well. "Very glad to hear it, and I'm--happy to impress." With her other hand, she tossed her mink stole back across her shoulders again idly. She was pleased to have maintained a successful career, to say nothing of at least looking good now that she had grown up--too bad about Mary, she'd have thought, if she'd known, but then again, less competition.

Ed, who was happy to be impressed, just smiled. "Do you know Mary Dahl?" he asked, gesturing politely. "You must have run in the same circles." The idea that they may have been competitors occurred to him, but he had great faith in humanity, and was sure he could navigate this.

As it happened, Mary didn't, in fact, know Darla--though she had heard of her, by the time she'd come onto the scene, Darla would have been making far more adult pictures than her TV series. Still, she managed a fairly civil smile, and nodded. "Always a pleasure to meet a fellow thespian," she greeted, mentally sizing the other woman up. Sigh...that would be a nice body to have.
