Ed beamed at the empty stage. Empty but for set pieces waiting for the night's performance, that is. It didn't matter, really. He just needed to see people.
He hoped they came.

Of course, Mary was there, too, watching quietly from the back of the stage by the curtain and smiling herself, slightly. She could remember the first time she had ever been taken to an audition.
Maybe she'd get to see somebody that happy tonight.

*Vincent slipped in the back of the theater. He wasn't really here to audition, he had just hoped to talk to the man to see if he might be interested in buying (or at least renting) some of the items from his shop for his production. He stood and blinked, giving his eyes time to adjust.*
((I didn't know if you might want to swing the Price-as-Lugosi in the sense of a former actor that inspires Wood to try to get him to revive his acting career. Just a thought.))

((I'm totally drooling. Yes. I do.))
Ed spotted Mary and hurried over.
"Mary," he smiled. "Glad you could make it! I know there aren't any actors here yet, but I'm sure..."
He trailed off. Over her head, he'd seen... No. It couldn't be! It was impossible!
"Excuse me," he said, cheerfully distracted. "Looks like there's one now."
He walked towards the man, his heart pounding in anticipation and part of him wishing he'd managed to meet this man in a dark alley or an old house, just for the effect. Still, a dark, haunted theater would work.
As he approached, he held out his hand.
"Mr. Price?" he asked in a tone of disbelief.

*Vincent looked a bit surprised. He was relatively sure they hadn't met and it had been so long since anyone had recognized him from before, well...he was just surprised.*
"Why, yes. Have we met, sir?" *He asked, just in case.*

Ed shook his head, stars almost literally shining in his eyes.
"No, sir. But I'm one of your biggest fans. Edward D. Wood Jr., Mr. Price. Actor/writer/director. I've seen all your movies!"

((*sporfle* I can totally see him in mah brainz.))
*Vincent smiled warmly, always happy to meet a fan, especially here and now.*
"I am glad to hear that you enjoy my work. You're the director of this new film then? I was hoping to speak to you about it..." *He started.*

((That's because in the movie, he's a total caricature. You can hear him saying anything!))
Ed's eyes grew almost comically wide.
"Mr. Price, sir, there is a part for you in this picture that would be just perfect."

*Vincent looked confused again.*
"Well, that wasn't exactly what I meant...I own a magic shop..."
*His brow lifted.*
"A part for me? Acting again? I haven't, not in a long time..."

Ed's ears perked up at the words "magic shop," be he really only had room in his head for one excitement at a time.
"Oh, but that's a shame, Mr. Price," he said, shaking his head. "I can't imagine why."

Mary had been slightly annoyed to have someone brush her off in the middle of a conversation to go talk to someone else, but at that, she seemed to get the idea, based on his voice, brightening.
"Hey, yeah!" She hurried over to him, looked him over, and nodded--she was actually a little shy to talk to him in person, as he was such a very big name--then went back over to Ed. "Were you thinking Baal, too?"
She frowned, getting her nerve up. "Oh, c'mon. You'll like it, really. Won't it be good for everyone to get back into the habit?"

"Over the years I found myself typecast and well, horror just isn't the modern market..." *Vincent's words faded as the girl approached. He bowed politely and offered his hand.*
"Good afternoon, miss."

It was nice to see that he was polite, which she understood could be hard to do when you had recognition. Perhaps he was serious about not returning? That would be a real shame.
"Good evening, Mr. Price, I'm Mary Dahl, and I must say I never thought I'd get to meet you."

Edward beamed at both of them.
"Actually, I was thinking the prophet Elijah, but... but... Baal would be perfect! Please consider it, Mr. Price. It would be a whole new audience, new things for you."

*Vincent was swept up in the excitement, trying to keep up.*
"Is there...I mean, might I see a copy of the script?"
