"We're still working on the particulars," Edward said. "We were just so excited to cast."
He hadn't wanted to reveal Mary's involvement, if she didn't want it known.

*There was a knock on the door.
Under normal circumstances, he wouldn't have bothered with something this asinine, but now that the revolution was done and his ship had sailed off without him, Gavroche was a bit without work. He'd heard some...performer, or some such...needed extra hands building sets for a play or something. He certainly had the expertise for that sort of thing.
Of course, he didn't realize that he'd arrived at rehearsals.*

It was alright; Mary didn't mind at all revealing her involvement. To her, it only showed how dedicated she was to the project.
These thoughts aside, though, she turned at the knock on the door, echoing slightly, and was for a moment confused. Who could that be? Oh, of course, it must be someone else come to try out! Well, the more, the merrier.
"Come on in!" she called, not waiting for Ed but sure he wouldn't mind.

((It's not really rehearsals. They just ran a scene for an audition.))
Edward beamed at the new boy.
"Here for the movie?" he asked. "We still need Jezebel's sons!"

*Gav stood in the doorway, looking a bit like a deer caught in headlights*
"I...er..."
*He started to say he wasn't an actor, then stopped.*
Shutup, stupid. You're being offered work!
"Yes! I am!" He said, trying to sound confident.
He could fake it. Even if he didn't know what movies were.

"Great!" Edward cried. "I'm Ed Wood, the director, and this is Mary Dahl, writer, star and chief financial backer. And this is Mr. Price, great actor. And Miss Kitty, and the Vicomte de Valmont, and last but not least the lovely ingenue, Miss Christine Daae."

*Vincent bowed his head to the young man politely, then turned back to study his script as they worked things out.*

*Gav nodded to the other men in the room, and tipped his cap to the ladies.
He was surprised that Mr. Wood had accepted him so fast, but he wasn't about to question his good fortune*
"Please to meet you all. Sorry about the lateness and all...I got bad directions."

"No problem!" Edward said enthusiastically. "This place is a maze, isn't it?" He said this with no hint that he recalled all the ridiculous things that had happened to him, and Christine, in this maze of a building. "So it seems settled. Mary, would you like to confer with me about final decisions on the cast? The rest of you--thanks very much, we'll be contacting you about rehearsals!"

*Vincent figured that meant he should go. To be honest, it was probably for the best. He was starting to get a headache. Script in hand he started towards the back of the auditorium.*

Mary nodded, all calmness and smiles now that things had begun to slip back into a more or less familiar routine, and smiled to everyone when they eventually began to leave.
"So," she replied, walking over to Ed, "let's talk, then."

*Gav nodded to the others as they filed out, mumbling apologies once more about the lateness as he paused to grab a copy of the script before exiting. He could study this later, after he made sure to memorize the path to the opera house so he wouldn't get lost again *

Ed rubbed his hands together.
"I think that went swell," he said. "I think we've got ourselves a movie."

Mary sighed happily, rocking on her heels, at attention.
"Wonderful! When do you think filming can begin?"

"Well, we'll need sets. I'm sure we can find someone to help with that. And costumes. But as to casting, we need to work out who's Baal and who's Elijah."
