Khan had been the one to cavalierly volunteer the information about his daughter, but the Persian did not point this out.
"Again, I am sorry, where you are concerned" he said. "I do not expect you to understand, but Erik's business is mine. As he understood, when we parted. But it need not concern you, and I shall not use anything you have told me in my investigations."

He sighed. This conversation was fruitless. The man clearly did not know what he was dealing with. "Until ten minutes ago, I had no idea Erik was alive, let alone in Paris," he said. He narrowed his eyes as he watched the other man go. There was something off, here. He was still unconvinced it was the same Erik, except for the part where he was absolutely certain.
