(('Fraid so. Actually, I was a little worried today when I had my X-Men t-shirt on and went to put on my Batman cap.))
Rogue wasn't flamboyant, except in her insistence on black, lots of eyeliner, and gloves that would look affected to anyone who didn't know how deadly her touch was. She wasn't flamboyant because she'd never been shown there might be any benefit to her powers at all.
"Oh, hey," she said, mildly embarrassed even though manners weren't exactly her first priority these days. "I'm... Rogue."

((Oh, wow...))
This was still toned down, of course, from what Raven was used to. She liked that. Flashy people...irritated her, in general. Somberness was more appropriate to her tastes, and thus her own style of dress.
If it was awkward for her, it seemed doubly so for Raven; the main reason she was talking this much was that she was trying to work on her "people skills". "A pleasure, I'm sure," she said, again, her voice not changing. One-word names were also a norm for her--in fact, everyone she worked with and around had one.

"Marie" just didn't seem to suit her, anymore. "Marie" was not for girls who could kill with a kiss. Rogue was, perhaps, dramatic, but it was how she felt. And why shouldn't she express that, if she had the choice of name?
She shrugged.
"Likewise," she said, because it seemed the correct response unless she wanted to address the apparent sarcasm of Raven's. "I guess you'll be going soon. Good luck with that."

Understandable. Sometimes people went through crises that led them to reinvent themselves. As it happened, though, Raven had never had any other name. Having her kind of background usually led to dark things like that.
She gave a vague nod, and went down to the floor again, standing neatly. "I suppose so. But maybe you know the way out of here?"

"Sure," Rogue said. "Only the building, of course; I haven't figured out any way of getting back. And I haven't tried getting back to the U.S., even in this time. I figure, if there's a way back, it's gotta be close."
She nodded down one passageway. "It's that way, and through the auditorium. I can show you, if you want."

"Good," Raven replied with another sigh. She could just imagine what they were doing to her room at home...if they messed with her books, or her CDs, they were dead. "...I don't see anything else to do for the moment, so we might as well go." As it was fairly dark in here with the flickering light, she pulled her hood down.

Rogue didn't especially like people staring at her. So she didn't stare at Raven, though the girl's hair was an interesting color as was her skin. She thought it was kinda cool, actually, and so she just led the way.
"Not much goes on, really," she said. "I'm staying here because there's plenty of room and a whole kitchen; but there's not much to do."

It was something of a relief, actually; even though it didn't really bother her that much, people did tend to stare when she went out in public. Somehow, though, she could tell that people were a bit...different here, even besides Rogue. In either case, she followed, her shoes making little sound.
"Hmm. It'll almost be too quiet."

"I think we're between rehearsals and performance," she said, her voice soft despite the fact she heard no one around. "They clean in the morning, rehearse in the afternoon, then things get pretty quiet before the show. Usually there're more people moving around, but... I try to stay out of their way."

"Oh. You meant you're actually staying here, at the Opera." That was a bit unusual for Raven's taste, but there was a certain Gothic appeal to it that she rather liked. "Interesting. ...Do they know you're here?" she added, idly curious. "And do you know someplace I can stay that'd be conducive to meditation?"

Rogue blinked, wondering if she should have been more discreet. But then, she'd only learned to be afraid of herself, not other people.
"Yeah, I am," she said. "And I probably do; there's lots of out-of-the-way prop rooms, and you can't hear much from some parts of the cellars. Not that I've been down there, much. There's talk of... something not very friendly down there."

In general, Raven was prone to pushing other people away, consciously or not. It was almost surprising that she and Rogue could stay in each other's company for this long, even. Also, it wasn't really her fault; Raven was just fairly perceptive. "Ah. Well, they'll do." Surprisingly, she had to actually crack a rueful smile at the latter. "I don't think I'm worried. There are probably nastier things in my own family."

"Yeah, well..." Rogue shrugged. "I haven't seen anything, myself." But she hadn't exactly looked, either. "So do you want to leave, or do you want me to show you the storerooms and stuff?"

Fair enough. Things could get unpleasant fairly quickly when one investigated so far.
She sighed. "Well, I might as well look around fully if I'm going to be here for any length of time."

Rogue nodded.
"Yeah," she said, because that's what she'd done. But she didn't know if that meant she was supposed to take Raven around or if the girl'd rather go on her own. "I can give you a quick overview, if you want. The auditorium's there," she pointed, "and beyond that are all the public places for the audience and stuff. You know, the fancy parts. Behind it are the practice rooms, the dressing rooms, costume rooms, all that. Dormitories and offices upstairs--that's where the ballet girls sleep. And below you've got more storerooms, the boilers, that kind of thing."
