The first thing Heartlock found out when she returned to the nearest Elven city, was that the guest houses on the ground were all occupied. But she found Christian a nice tree-house, not too far away from her own. That way, she wouldn't have to travel far if she had to take care of him.
As soon as the arrangements with housing were done, she got help from the wolves to move Christian over to the tree where he would reside.
The next part was more tricky. How do you bring an unconsious man up into a tree house? She studied him for a while. Then she tied ropes around his body, and with the help of ropes, branches and the wolves pulling the ropes, she managed to hoist Christian up into the tree, before she followed after him up into the tree.
She opened the door and dragged the sleeping or unconscious man into the room. She looked around for a moment and found out there was a bed in the next room. Luckily the bed was made up already. She smiled in relief as she dragged Christian into the bedroom. With a last effort, she managed to pull him onto the bed.
Then she sat down in a chair beside the bed, waiting for him to wake up.

Perhaps a half-hour later, perhaps more, Christian finally came to. He got himself into a sitting position with much effort on his own part.
"What--?"

Heartlock stood up from her chair, where she had been sitting, watching him. Not willing to admit it, she had been worried about him. She had seen male elves getting drunk from eating certain berries in the forest, but none of them had been as drunk as the man in front of her. She smiled and looked at him.
"Ah, good. You're finally awake. How do you feel?"
She spoke in a light tone, filled with humor, trying to hide the concern in her voice. It was still showing in her eyes, though, that she was a warmhearted and caring elf woman, in spite of her gruff demeanor.

Christian laid a hand against his damp brow.
"I feel terrible. Like someone's gone and pounded my skull to bits with an anvil."
He managed to plaster on a smile, however, to acknowledge her concern for his well-being.

Heartlock looked worried. She was thinking about how long he could have walked around in the forest in this cold weather before she found him. She came over to his side, and placed her hand gently on his forehead to see if he had a fever. Her warm eyes sought his.
"Do you want me to make you a cup of tea? I have some herbs that may help you with the headache. And... perhaps some breakfast to go with that?"

Christian nodded and shut his eyes.
"Yes, please. And thank you."

Heartlock smiled warmly. He was charming after all. Especially now, when he was sober. She was glad she hadn't killed him.
"You're welcome. Is it anything special you want for breakfast, or some special type of tea you prefer?"

"It doesn't take much to satisfy me. Get me anything."
Christian tugged at the bedsheets, only too aware of the pain coursing through his head.

Heartlock smiled gently and stroke his hair.
"Please, try not to move. It will only get worse if you do. I'll be back with your breakfast soon."
She walked into the kitchen and made him a cup of herbal tea. Of course with the kind of herbs that removed headache. She also had some milk and sugar in it.
Then she made him a full English breakfast. Eggs, bacon, toast, tomatoes and beans. She placed everything on a tray and came back to the bed.
"I hope the tea will make you better, " she said shyly.

Christian sat up in the bed and managed to twist his mouth into a smile. Pain-wracked, albeit.
"I'm sure it will," he stated as he brought the cup to his lips. The liquid swept down his throat in a fiery rage and warmed his queasy stomach.
"It's wonderful."

Heartlock smiled warmly and placed the tray with his food on the nightstand beside the bed. Her movements were soft, and the sunlight coming through the bedroom windows fell on her golden curls and also gave her hazel eyes a golden glow. "Thank you. I hope the breakfast will suit you. Since I don't know you very well, I didn't know what you prefer." ((This is what Heartlock is wearing usually:))

"It's fine. I don't want to trouble you--wait, weren't you the one who threatened to kill me?" he asked, squinting his eyes.

Heartlock laughed, and her gentle laughter echoed through the room. She sat down beside him and looked at him with a glimpse of humor in her eyes.
"I did. But just because you were laying in the forest, without any attempts to get up. Don't you know that many wild beasts prefer to eat their pray when it's still alive? Besides, you thought I was a result of your vivid imagination. Has your imagination ever prepared breakfast for you before?"

Christian paled.
"Well, in actuality, I do believe it has."

Heartlock arched her eyebrows and chuckled with laughter.
"Well, I must admit that is an extraordinary imagination you have."
She hesitated for a moment, then sat down beside him, and placed her warm hand over his.
"Do I feel like an imagination as well?"
Her beautiful hazel eyes were glittering, seeking his eyes.
