Re: castle storming--
I think we should probably explicitly go tell Richard we have his wife, and won't give her back until he hands over France.
Then, if he refuses, we can storm the castle.

So here's the thing: Richard sold his firstborn for the throne. I think we should think about what that means, if the rebels win; anyway, it's something that needs to be worked out at some point. Marie doesn't know about it, and Richard is certainly going to wonder what went awry.
((Posted here because it concerns Marie and the Devil.))

...wow. Would you believe I've forgotten about that? I probably would have let that slip past me if you hadn't mentioned it.
We do need to figure that angst out. It could end up that perhaps the throne Richard was meant to have ends up being something else instead of the throne of France?

...the crapper?
Well one main question is the firstborn--is Marie preggers?

*Splorfle* Well, that IS a "throne"...
Not yet, but say "when" and POW, instant morning sickness.

Well, if he sold his firstborn... hmm. There could be a condition he didn't notice, possibly? Something about how... I don't even know but it's all I'm coming up with.
And, toilets not included, Sarah's thing about another throne could work, if there were another throne over something to take. A metaphorical throne? I'm just throwing out anything running through my head at the moment, so excuse any incomprehensibility. I have no idea what on earth a metaphorical throne is.

To be fair, I looked up what the bargain was--and it states that keeping power is his business.
Still, he did offer them the soul.

I guess he could always try to get back in power afterwards. What do we do for now?

So, since the Opera is is now taking up much of the plot, it's my proposal that we end the revolution soon. Maybe we can have a thread of victory and fill in the details later?

Yeah, I agree. Maybe I shouldn't have started the opera yet. Anyway, we talked about Richard being on the run and maybe Marie and Oscar running off, too; then we can have victory without death and Dick and Marie can live to fight another day (and figure out that whole firstborn issue).

I agree--Oscar could set Marie free and the two of them escape (and probably have to hide out for a bit), and we can skip ahead to the end of the revolution. I've been missing playing Marie.

Here's an idea--Richard has ordered his troops to move in more heavily, not at all willing to let Marie go to the dogs. But since his throne was gained through illusion/devilish influence, perhaps something (maybe Leia can do something unconscious with the Force?) makes the troops uncertain about their duty to their King. The illusion is lifted, at least partially. Allowing the rebels to win.

Man, I had a dream last night that this ended with Leia giving medals to people like at the end of A New Hope. And I haven't forgotten about Rose, Kris.

You know what's hilarious?
The last post in this thread was on October 16th, which is the anniversary of Marie Antoinette's beheading. *is such a geek*
