As for the idea of an over-arching plot- I feel like there should eventually be something that actually shapes the Verse for the future and DOES affect everyone. Maybe not this plot, but SOMETHING- a plot so overarching that basically, if you're not participating, you'd better have it so your characters move their plot out of Paris for a period of time while things get blown up. Or something.

Count me out, then. I don't want something like that. There doesn't *need* to be anything like that.

I understand that, and I do agree to some extent, but that's very difficult to accomplish here. Or has been, in the past.
If we do come up with something, I think it should involve the Opera, and I have been waiting to get Erik back into commission so he can start some trouble. Perhaps with the other denizens of the Opera depths as well.

Plus there's that whole "army of mind-controlled vampires under the leadership of Jonathan Crane and a guy who wants to kill Satan just so he can take over Hell himself" plot in the works.

Oh take over hell isn't gonna work for me.
There are too many people here that "rule hell" shit, I've got two.
And considering there seems to be three different hells here... oh what am I talking about, this doesn't belong here.

As Crane's player, I'd like to keep his plot separate from anything political. I don't really want to participate in anything over-arching- I'd like to keep things as they are, just with room for plot for those who want.

I honestly think there's some confusion over terminology. I personally read "over-arching" along the lines of the revolution, or the fear toxin, or a war, or an opera, the sort of thing that actually gives folks plot and encourages people playing together who usually don't (which I'm all for). There are only so many love scenes I can do, and I like seeing stuff that involves people and lets us discover new stuff to do.
What I mean is that in my mind (and I am not one of the planners), "something political" doesn't have to mean everyone's involved. Because I would hope, Mira, that those characters of yours who would be into such a thing (and it seems to me there are some) would participate. Not saying Crane. It's just that nothing's settled, nothing's changing, and I don't want anyone to get hung up on words right now.

Megan: I'm not sure if something THAT Big would really be necessary. I mean, it's really a choice, and we shouldn't make people remove themselves from Paris, not that we or anybody else has the power to do so anyway.
I'm still championing the whole political vacuum thing--Richard/Marie loyalists (though I don't know if there are any but Oscar) could try to reinstate them, those in favor of a monarchy could pick someone to install as King, and those characters in favor of a democracy could try to put one in place... as well as whoever else wants to make a bid for France.

THIS is what I'd rather have. It's not fair to penalize people just because they opted not to join a plot.

I'd just like to see a plot big enough that the environment is permanently affected for everyone on the Verse.
