The flight from New York to Greece was going to be a very long one - about nine hours, Nina surmised. Dan seemed chipper about the prospect. Nina personally believed that in spite of how daunting that was, he felt good, to the point of smugness, to have everyone reliant on his piloting skills and Adrian personally indebted to him (though Adrian could have paid for commercial tickets easily). It was hard being around people like herself and Adrian, she thought too guiltily. They seemed to make other people feel obsolete. Adrian probably let Dan do this largely to feel like less of his... well, sugar daddy. He was staying in the cockpit with Dan, so Nina didn't bother him about it.
Bruce Banner fell asleep almost immediately after takeoff, slumping where he sat ever so slightly. He had seemed exhausted, though Megan Elness didn't look very awake herself. Nina felt quite awake, but did not want to impose on anyone. She felt strangely wonderful for once, and hoped the feeling would last.
Not wanting to crowd Curt she'd taken a seat to herself to read for a bit; a while in, she glanced back at him to discover he was very much asleep and felt relieved she'd left him alone. But she finished her book over the next few hours and decided to move to the seat beside him instead, cautiously touching him on the shoulder.

Not everyone was so comfortable, even in a state of mild exhaustion. Visions of rock-star plane crashes still swirled in his head at the thought of getting on board what must be by necessity a smaller aircraft. But Curt had managed to doze off anyway, despite his fretting and his earnest desire to see what to make of his other traveling companions. His glasses were askew on his nose and leaving little pink marks on the bridge of it as well as his temples.
His book still had its place marked in his lap, but looked ready to fall; when Nina touched him, he startled awake.

Nina caught the book between his knees and looked chagrined but delighted to see him conscious and hopefully talk-to-able.
"Hello- sorry, I woke you up-"

Curt smiled, though he looked a little rustled.
"Have we arrived? No, never mind, I would have felt that--"

She became conscious of, and resisted, the tenderest urge to adjust his spectacles for him - they'd become askew as he dozed. She did not crush it, however, and allowed it to fill her with a happy warmth, until she realized it had become tender urges of altogether different natures and banished them altogether with the smallest blush.
"I finished my book and wondered how... well, awake you were-"

Curt wiped at his mouth with his sleeve, suddenly self-conscious that he might have dribbled. (He hadn't.)
"Ah, yes. Well, I'm all right now."

"If you'd like me to leave, I can- it's been about four hours now, we've still got so much time before we land..."

"Oh no, would you like to talk? I'd rather be awake now if I can, now that the fretting about take-off is over."

"Oh, please," she said, and her smile was wider than intended. Her brain fled back to Adrian stopping and staring at her, 'My God. You're in love with him', and the smile faltered.

Curt straightened up in his seat, smoothing out his light jacket.
"How are you feeling, Nina?"

Nina let her head drop to his shoulder as usual, tilting it, hair falling over his arm.
"It's a bit dull to be cramped on this plane," she said, in a low voice, lest she bother Megan and Banner, or perhaps to create more of an intimacy between them. "Better, now you are awake."

"Have you brought anything to read?"
Curt inclined his face toward her, placidly. He was reading a novel, for the first time in a while, and it was really really bad, but highly diverting.

Nina held up her book and set it back down again.
"I finished it."
She looked chagrined.

Curt caught a glimpse of the title and smiled.
"We could trade, if you like, I'm reading something very pulpy--"

"Ohh, tell me the plot. Is it like the film we saw?"
