"Christ, no. I could never think any less of you - certainly not for this reason. Although-"
Her expression went grey, looking disappointed.

With full knowledge that it was probably just a social nicety -- the kind of thing you say to somebody when you accidentally uncover their stash of porn -- the thought that Nina could never think any less of him -- never -- made him blush to the tips of his ears with a private, probably premature pleasure.
"Yes?"

She gave him the most doe-eyed look of disappointment while running her fingers through her hair, underestimating her ability to look enticing and overdoing it in the process. "Well, she doesn't look like me. I'm just terrified now that I am not your Type."

Curt smiled faintly. "One man's type can change a great deal over 20 years. You have nothing to worry about, Nina."

She laughed, more pleased by this answer than she'd expected to be, and it showed in her face, as she blushed and smiled at the same time, and then found herself affectionately touching his hair.

Curt glanced up shyly.
"I hope that wasn't too forward."

"If that's your definition of forward..." She shook her head gently and then leaned it contentedly on his shoulder with a sigh of frustrated longing.

Curt leaned into it as well, both fond and sad.

"I always felt so masculine," she said, fingering the pages of his book again, though not turning to those which contained the pinups. "If you preferred very voluptuous women my heart might very well break."

Nina was quite obviously an athletic young woman, and Curt found it staggeringly attractive, not to speak of intimidating. Her vulnerability was a little heart-aching, but he didn't know what to do about it. He just smiled at her jesting tone, and tried not to think of what might underpin it.

She wanted to teasingly poke him in the chest, but it turned into a caress. She couldn't bear to think she might actually hurt him even in jest.
"I don't mean to embarrass you with my young lady thoughts."

"I value your thoughts very much," Curt said, a little stiff with concern about this coming out as something patronizing.

She turned as much as she could to bury her face in his chest, hand still caressing gently, but she was thwarted by the armrest. It came off more silly than earnest, and certainly not very seductive.
"Curt, what would I do without you, you - perfect gentleman, and my dearest friend."

"Ah, Nina, my dear..."
He was a little goofily moved by this, resting his hand very lightly on her shoulder.

She pulled back and turned her head down to kiss one of his knuckles, lightly.
