"Alex.
You're not from Paris, are you? You sound English."

"Grew up in London" she smiled "I go to school there too" she tilted her head as they walked "and you're obviously not French."

"Nope. I'm from the US. I came to Paris because...well, why not?"

"Oh wow I've never met an American before" at least that she knew of, when it came to Paris you could never be sure.
"Is it all greasy food and freedom over there like I heard?"

Alex burst out laughing.
"Oh, no, we've got regular food, too. I kinda miss that the most, to be honest."
Well. He missed food in general, but he wasn't about to say that.
"And I'm sure England isn't all tea and muffins." He continued, grinning.

"Oh no it totally is" she said very matter of factually before laughing "English food is terrible, very much like French food. Papa makes a lot of Italian dishes, lots of pastas and tomato sauce."

"That sounds wonderful," he said wistfully.
He was feeling homesick, something that hadn't happened in years. All the talk about home was stirring up old memories. Things he regretted, things he missed. The fact that while his parents had still been alive, he couldn't show himself to them because it would've been impossible to explain.
He sighed.
"I think I envy you."

((you wrote last page his parents died in a car accident )) "Well Papa runs a homeless shelter he kinda makes food for 20 to 30 people a night" she laughed "it's still good though."

((Son of a...I can't believe I wrote that and then forgot it. Fixed.))
"Yep, I envy you," he said, laughing. "You make it sound really cozy."

((XD))
"He tries to make it that way" she smiled "we've got two fireplaces."
He was nice enough but she was still weary, she knew about vampire myths, but none of them said anything about cute boys and charming conversations.

"Well, all the more reason to get you back there, right?"
Marie was right about vampire myths. Alex had been around long enough to know how odd he was compared to others of his kind (although, from what he'd heard, they still thought Louis was stranger).

She laughed "It's my last night before going back to school. I wasn't going to, but Papa got some big donations from a friend of his boyfriend and a friend of mine. So we can afford it now."

He eyed the buildings around them, looking for anything familiar.
"Well, I think I know how to get to the main district road from here. I'm pretty sure I recognize that store over there."
