Vicente short-mindedly thought of a differnt tactic, and called for Marlow to enter the room.

He was up the stairs again and at the door in an instant, eager to please
[What is it, Uram? Do you wish for fresh prey?]

**NEW NIGHT**
His usual tactics of trying to drown out unwelcome thoughts and emotions had not worked, for the first time ever. Even after the tryst in the opium den, even after the opium itself, it was still plaguing him. But he still didn't feel like going back home, or the library, or anywhere for that matter. He felt far too restless. One could say he was running from his problems, like he had all those years ago back on Night Island.
Had it really been that long, after a fight...a fight with Armand, no less...a fight that Daniel fled the house from and then stormed across the rooftops in Miami, Eric chasing after. Or the carnage he'd left in an alleyway in an attempt to burn off the anger...
No, wait, why was he thinking of such old things? It had no relevance.
He stopped where he was, finally coming back enough to the here and now to realize that he'd made it to the roof of the opera house. What an odd choice for his subconscious to make.
((That stuff he's referring to about Night Island never happened in canon, I should note--it's talking about something that happened in the alternate timeline he's from.))

Louis on the other hand had consciously made his way to the opera house, it was the one place in all of Paris that calmed him down. Although he had yet to quite understand why.
He couldn't go home, Lestat would be there and he was tired of cemeteries, he could no longer take refuge in the opera cellars, due to the fact that he feared the creatures that live below. With a sigh he made his way to the roof.
What he found there caused him to stop dead.
((That's cool))

Louis' presence registered at the edge of his senses, but strong enough that it was all he needed to know the other vampire was there.
"This is a bad time." He said, voice barely above a whisper.

"I did not know that you were here Daniel, I apologize" but he didn't move, he wanted to be on that roof and there was no reason that he shouldn't be able to.

"Mmhmm. You didn't sense me here?" He spoke distractedly, most of his effort and focus bent on not showing any of what he was feeling. Louis didn't need to see him a mess.

"I was not really, paying too much attention I'm afraid" he replied truthfully.

"And...and yet I sense you without paying attention." His wavered. He was losing control.

"You've experienced enough-" Louis brow furrowed "Daniel, are you all right?"

"No." He whispered. "I'm not."
With that, he sat down by a nearby statue, and stared into space.

Louis decided, that the best course of action was to actually move toward Daniel, even if it meant the other vampire attacking him.
Taking a few steps forward he stopped again "What's wrong?"
