"Welcome to St. Pancras." John looked up at the large hotel with a smile "It's newly renovated." It had been a challenge booking the hotel, they were only going to stay in London a week and it was fairly short notice. He wouldn't tell Laszlo how much each night cost, but it was more than the price of food he bought for the shelter in six months. He didn't feel bad for it, not this time, money for a small time, would be no problem.

László was openly gawking at the hotel, practically mesmerized.
"Oh my god, John, this is wonderful. I can't believe we can really do this."
((Seriously. That is one gorgeous building.))

((It's like normally 450 dollars a night! I looked it up on priceline XD))
"Live like kings for a couple days" he smiled "we've earned it."
Outside the hotel a bellhop was waiting for them to take their baggage, John tipped him as well as he'd understood to do plus a few dollars extra.
The inside of the hotel was as lavish as the outside and knowing that he was there for himself and not as an errand for someone else, was slightly freeing. His arm automatically wrapped around Laszlo's shoulders as they came to the front desk.
"Good afternoon sir, are you checking in?"
"Yes, reservation under Bristow, John Bristow."
"Bristow, Bristow" the man clicked away on what John had been told was a computer, although he'd yet to have the pleasure of actually using one "here we are, John Bristow, suite number #---, one guest" the concierge smiled and began typing "and you'll be staying for a week?"
"That's correct."
"Will you be needing any extra supplies?"
"Towels and sheets will be fine, we'll be taking advantage of the spa tonight as well so I'd like to book the appointment now."
"Absolutely sir, how does 6pm sound?"
"Wonderful."
"We also have you booked for a dinner at the booking office restaurant on Saturday? Fine Victorian era food I might say, one of my favorite spots in the hotel."
John smiled "Thank you."
The concierge handed him the room keys and pointed toward the elevators before wishing them a very good evening.
"Good god, I forgot how English London was" John chuckled as they walked away, his own accent all ready flairing up from the cab ride over.

László was starting to wonder if his giddiness was ever going to go away. Not that he wanted it to. He couldn't ever remember feeling so buoyant before.
"...did you say spa?"
He was feeling a bit self-conscious about his own accent, perfectly aware of how foreign he sounded surrounded by native English speakers. At least his English was a million times better than his French, which he was incredibly thankful for.
"And of course London is very English. It's like the heart of this country, isn't it?"

"Yes it is and yes I did" he chuckled as they got to the elevator "did I neglect to mention the spa?"

László got an almost far-off look in his eyes.
"Yeah. I've never been to one before, unless you count those hotels that have a spa bathtub or whatever that's called."

"I went to one once with a drag queen named Luna" he laughed "I was about 16 I think? She'd just made a few dollars and wanted to celebrate and I was the only one around, so she took me to a spa. It wasn't like this, but it was nice."
Hitting the button to their floor John leaned over and kissed Laszlo on the cheek "I'm excited to see what the rooms look like."

"Well, it should be as fancy as--"
The elevators opened onto an almost surrealy opulent hallway.
"--everything else in here."

John looked around the hallway like a child would a toy store "To feel how the other half lives for even a short time-" he kept an arm around Laszlo's waist.

László chuckled a bit darkly.
"I've seen some of it, I could tell you stories--"
He waggled his eyebrows.

"Oh" John nudged him a little and laughed as they moved down the hallway to find their room.

He grinned at John as they walked.
"Yeah, most of my stories are like that. Occupational hazard."

"Well I hope we can make some stories of our own" he raised both of his eyebrows and laughed.
They got to the room and John put the key in the door, and held his breath as he opened it.

"Why John, I didn't know you liked being tied up," László teased.
The room was goddamn amazing to look at.
"You picked well."

He ignored the comment about being tied up and moved in to the room "I sure did."
