((Oh John you're so adorably cheesy))
László wandered across the yard, not too far, but just enough that he could be lost in his own thoughts and undisturbed...and not look like he was eavesdropping.

"We live right in the heart of the city" John said as he looked out in to the wide open spaces "this view makes it all seem very small." He looked over at Laszlo with a smile. His partner looked even more handsome in the natural light. "It gives one a sense of perspective. At how much larger than world is than simply just Paris."

"Wow, oh-" Marie flushed "then Papa and Laszlo are probably something completely new to him huh?" "Yeah, I'll have to explain things to him later," she said, stifling a chuckle. "Some folks around here are still behind the times a bit."

Marie shrugged her shoulders "I'm sure it'll be fine, where do you keep the sugar?" Treszka pointed at the cupboard near the fridge. "Lowest shelf in there." She leaned against the counter, glancing outside at the guys. "You know, Zach is...well. He's my first serious boyfriend. I always figured I'd wander alone forever, like what almost happened to dad."

"Have you ever traveled? Outside of France I mean." "A bit. My family has holdings outside Paris, so there are time where either myself or my sister must go to see to it." He frowned. In all honesty, he didn't really like leaving things here--or leavings things alone elsewhere. "Though they seem to be more trouble than they're worth."

Holdings? Good lord. Treszka really had landed one that was a million bucks. Probably literally. Still totally not eavesdropping, he wandered a bit farther, picking wildflowers.

It wasn't one she wore very often and it made her look just like her father. She didn't say anything as she began to drop a couple lumps in to her and her fathers tea cups.

John laughed. "Sure I can understand that" he eyed Laszlo for a moment with a little smile. "You said you have a sister? Any other family?" "I do, yes. Half-siblings, through our mother, though we haven't had much contact with them." Not much contact since his mother had become an Empress, at least. But Zachaire preferred that people think he was from another branch of the de Chagny family and a Count, instead of an Archduke. The number of noble mothers shoving their daughters at him would've quadrupled if anyone in Paris knew. "For the most part, it's only Violetta and myself, though I...count Treszka now, as well." He said softly.

Treszka sighed. "I'm being gloomy again, aren't I?" "No, you've just got a lot of things to talk about" Marie smiled "and you haven't had anyone to talk to them about and it's things I don't know exactly how to react to." She adjusted the cups on the tray and leaned "I mean, living forever alone sounds about the worst thing I could think of." Marie hadn't even really thought about dating, when all the girls her age were finding boyfriends and suitors and fiance's and some of them were even finding husbands, she was busy working with her father and now she was busy with school. Who had time for romance? ((Man I need Marie to grow up, she's gonna be so much fun once she's grown XD))

And sometimes I forget that not everybody knows what I'm talking about. I'm really glad I met you, you know. I don't how much longer I would've lasted without a friend." ((Oh yeah, Marie would be awesome. Maybe she and Tres could get into shenanigans together.))

Grown bored with eavesdropping and pretending not to, László turned toward John and Zachaire.
"I think I'll hop back inside."
He breezed past them and back into the cottage. With everyone paired with someone to talk to, he was feeling distinctly left out, though he knew it wasn't on purpose. It just seemed to be the way of things for him.
((This boy needs a friend. For realz))
