"Okay, sounds good. I don't really have a schedule, so..." he tossed his hands in the air.
"Well...unless I actually get a job. But I'll let you know how that goes."

"Well here's hoping."
She handed him a page of lyrics, it was a pop song, gave him the tune and said "Go for it."

"Okayyy." Not his cup of tea, but eh, he'd come here to get better at this, hadn't he? Not the time for nit-picking.
He sang it well enough, though it was a bit odd to actually have music to sing with--it was usually just him and the walls around him.

She smiled "Your throat is your weakness, feel deeper, feel it right here" dhe poked him in the stomach "again."

"Tenor or no, you are still singing in your throat, I can hear the vibrations, again" she began to play, after a couple times she smiled.
"Much better" she looked down at her watch "but the session is over."

"For once, I was doing something productive. I felt so damned useless just sitting around that shelter...so, I'll see you later?"

"Actually I'll see you tonight" she smiled "John hasn't told anyone just yet, but he's bringing you and Amras and the girls over to my house for dinner. We're having some good old American barbecue."

"I...really?" He said softly.
Nowhere in his memory he could recall eating anything barbeque, but more than that, it had been a very long time since he'd just been to some kind of friendly gathering.
Like a family would do.

"Yes and I'll be cooking, were having ribs and burgers and fries and mmm" she laughed "can't beat it."

Embarassingly, he could feel tears threaten, and quickly blinked them back.
"Thank you. I...thank you."

She tilted her head and gave that oh so motherly of smiles "You're welcome."

He gave her an embarassed laugh.
"I don't know what I'd do without you guys."

"I'll tell you what you'd be doing with out me" she smirked "you'd have a lot more scars on that pretty face of yours."

He could think of worse that he'd have been in, but he didn't say it. He didn't want to ruin the mood.
"Bah. Pretty faces cause more trouble than not."
