His head was spinning, and lay stunned on the floor for a moment, unable to do anything.
"Gagh."
Finally, the strange paralyzation wore off, and he slowly shifted, groaning from the horrendous pain in his head that hadn't gone away.
But he knew, now. He knew, and it was something so extraordinary that it would take a long time to get used to the thought, if he ever did.
"Br-Brandi...?"

*She could hear his voice, through some murky fog. Brandi's chest convulsed as she fought to breathe. She still couldn't see him. Or move. Or...panic was welling in her and she tried to use it to lash out of the place her mind had been trapped. She willed her arms to fling about, actually managing to lift them haphazardly towards the angel.*
"I...ah...uh..." *She choked, but couldn't force the syllables out.*

He scrambled over to her.
"What--"
But he realized what was wrong in a moment, and felt a stab of panic.
"Oh, god..."
Calling upon an ability he didn't use often, he put all of his force of will into getting her to breath again.

*Suddenly she could feel him with her, not physically so much as his presence. Like an anchor, she was able to focus on that sensation and pull herself up out of the darkness, drawing in a long breath. She blinked hurriedly, body still tight, but stilling. However, she still couldn't see.*
"What...what happened?" *She breath, reaching out for him with more control, if still some panic.*

"I'm not sure. There was a sudden wave of pain and it knocked us both out of the trance. I don't know where it came from, but it felt like an attack almost."
He held her hand, helping her to sit upright.
"But, I...I learned how it ties together."

*It was better as he helped her to sit. Brandi squinted and blinked, a strange blur of light starting to form in her vision. Maybe it was wearing off, whatever it was.*
"How?" *She asked meekly, needing something else to focus on. Something to fix.*

He took a deep breath. It was incredible, although how anything could seem far-fetched anymore, he really didn't know.
"It started with the conquistadore. After drinking from the tree, it...it made him immortal. He had a run-in with Dracula, and something...I'm not quite sure what, but some sort of magical protection zapped both of us. I got blasted back in time, which is how the gladiator thing happened. I never die, though. I move on, to different lives, and I keep encountering you and Dracula--both of you kept changing, well, he stopped once he was Vlad and became immortal himself.
I was never an angel. It was all in my head."

*Brandi turned towards his voice, vaguely able to make out his form in the light.*
"But..." *She started, obviously confused.* "The wings? I've seen them..." *Well, Icarus had at least. But she'd heard them.*
"How is that even possible?"
*Like she had to ask here.*

"I don't know. There's still a gap in information, but at least there's...something, even if it's confusing. I might have to pay a visit upstairs for a better answer."
He did not relish the thought, as he hadn't been entirely welcome the last time he'd put in an appearance.

"Uh..." *Could he even still do that now that he knew he wasn't really an angel? It made her head hurt to think too hard on it. She rubbed her eyes as the blurry light continued to grow in her vision.*
"Ok. If you think they'll be able to help." *She'd found in her verse experience that the Higher Powers were pretty hit or miss with the helping.*
"I can just...wait here. While you're gone."

He nodded, though his expression was a bit concerned.
"Will you be all right here?"
He couldn't help thinking that the split second he left the scene, that something bad would show up to wreck everything...

*Brandi gave him a tired smile and quirked a brow, almost like she was sharing the same thought.*
"Does it matter?" *She joked flatly.* "You gotta do this so we can figure this all out. So you should go."
*She lifted her hand, heavy as it was.*
"I promise I won't try anything stupid while you're gone. I'll just lay down and try to get some rest. Ok?"
*He was getting clearer now (he had vague facial features and everything.) She glanced back towards the bed.*

"You're right, I know you are. I can't help it--I sometimes feel like some of this is my fault, although we really have no control over fangface."
He hesitated a moment, before giving her a chaste kiss on the cheek.
"You do that, and I'll be back as soon as possible. Hopefully we'll get more than vague randomness."
Not particularly looking forward to what was to come, he nonetheless disappeared from the room and to his destination.

*Brandi felt a twinge of guilt (after all, Drac was her fault in a way, wasn't he?), but nodded to the hope for more useful information. She sighed after he left and managed to crawl up into the bed. Her head was throbbing and she was definitely hoping some sleep would sort things out. She was used to weirdness, but it was mostly external stuff and all this unknown internal wackiness was giving her the wiggins. She curled up, drawing Cry-Baby's pillow to her, inhaling deeply for some echo of him still there for comfort. But there was another aroma mixed there now too and she drifted off in a conflicting mixture of guilt and desire. Her breathing slowed and body relaxed, finally finding sleep. Her eyes flickered open, blinking blue and trying to take in the situation. Sitting up sharply, he was relieved to find himself alone this time. A pale hand touched his chest in relief, only to be disturbed to find a soft lump of flesh beneath his hand. He startled back in alarm. No. No no no. God, he needed a cigarette. Without thinking, he reached into the bedside table and drew out a black clove cigarette and a box of matches. He couldn't find the stem, but he was in far too much distress to worry about that now. Lighting the cigarette, he drew in long breaths, suckling on its sweet comfort. Pushing himself from the bed, he paused a moment to take in the room more fully. It was simple (far more so than what he was accustomed to) but there were, on closer inspection, some things that seemed odd and out of place. Oh yes, and there was a large circle of seemingly random objects arranged on the floor. Uriel frowned at them, but noticed that there was a door (apparently to a closet) that had a mirror on it. He made his way to it, steps long and graceful, but his fingers paused when there. One more puff of sweet clove and he shifted the door to gaze into the mirror. He promptly choked on the smoke. What the Hell? He could only stand and stare at the stranger facing him, the one that shared nothing but his cold, piercing eyes. A woman. Not even a particular beauty. It made his stomach turn at the thought of being trapped here like this. But then it hit him...where was he?* ((Sorry, I ramble. I didn't know how long Raziel would be. We can either have him come back to this, or I can send Uriel out into the Verse. Whatever works best for you is awesome by me. ))

((Either is fine! I can only imagine what interesting things a Uriel-possessed Brandi would get up to ))
