*Joseph tried not to focus on where she'd been, what she'd been through. What he'd put her through by leaving. She was here now, and he'd spend what time he had left making it up to her.*
"Well...we'll just have to see you fatted up then."
*He smiled gently, but with a hint of jest.*
"We do seem to have all this extra food just lying around. It's a good thing you came."

"Oh by the time you are finished with me I will be an elephant hrm?" She placed a soft hand on her lips and giggled, which slowly turned in to a cough.

"Something like that." *Joseph said softly. At her cough, he refilled her glass with water from a pitcher that had been resting in a basin.*
"Here..." *He offered, wanting only to help.*

She took the glass and smiled, her cough dying down a bit as she drank the water "Thank you."
Anna looked away from the father for a moment "It's very beautiful out here."

*Joseph nodded, even though she wasn't looking at him.*
"It's peaceful. Much more so than Paris. I think you should like it. Here...it is easier to see God's hand."
*He smiled privately.*
"Was there anything in particular that you'd like to do...while you're here? With us?"

"I-" she laughed softly and turned her head to him "I want to breathe, I want to live and work and do everything that any one needs me to do. I want to sleep without being afraid and I want to do what god has asked me to do, without worry."

*Joseph was so content to see even the slightest happiness in Anna's face. He smiled gently.*
"Well, how would you feel about helping me in the garden?"
*His brow lifted questioningly.*

"I'd like that actually" she smiled "I'd like that very much."

*Joseph smiled brighter.*
"I would be grateful for the help. This seminary being as small as it is... there always seems to be more work than hands."

"I would be delighted" she returned Josephs smile.

"Then it's settled. Tomorrow."
*Joseph nodded decidedly.*
"Would you like to rest before I show you around the rest of the place?"

"I-" she yawned again "-I think that might be wise."

"All right."
*Joseph said with a smile as he pushed himself to standing. He walked to the door, looking back once to her.*
"You get some sleep and I'll see you in the morning."

"Good night Father and god bless" she said with a truly respecting smile.

"God bless you too, sweet child."
*He gave her one more heart-felt glance and slipped out into the hall, shutting the door quietly behind him.*
