"You'd be surprised; even with two full-grown vampires living here for centuries it looked like it'd never been cleaned." *She chuckled.* "Then again, men are men regardless of whether or not they're vampires."

"Really?" Ned asked. "I thought, as vampires, you would develop some strange need for having everything in an orderly fashion. I mean, I'd always assumed that. It seemed like that in the movies."

"Well, some of us do. There are different... well, I guess breeds of vampires. Different abilities, different appearances, etc. I seem to be the only one in this house with any capability for orderliness at all."

"Breeds?"
Ned knitted his brow.
"How precisely does that come about? Oh, and before I forget, sorry about all the questions. Curiosity did kill the cat."

*She chuckled.*
"The rules of evolution do apply to us, you know. Only viable individuals live long enough to turn others, therefore only viable traits get passed on. According to where the population lives, certain traits are selected for and therefore, different types of vampire develop. At least, that's what I'd assume. It's not like we can have scholars do a study."

"I'm surprised they don't have a whole field dedicated to vampirism," he laughed. "Apparently, there's more out there than pies and solving death cases, right? Then again, I never really ventured outside unless Emerson made me."

"Emerson?" *She inquired.*
((Lame post...))

((Aw, no!))
"He is...was...will be...a good friend," Ned replied.
Time distortion was certainly a terrible hassle, particularly when you didn't know how to apply a tense correctly.
"Basically, Emerson's a detective with a heart of gold, despite his attempts to conceal and deny that little fact. I suppose you could say I was his employee," he stated with a slight hint of pride. "I helped him solve murder cases."

"Oh! With the touching... thing?"

Ned laughed.
"Yes, with the touching thing. There was always a bit of trouble, though, when the corpse just upped and ran around."

"Well, you know technically I'm a corpse that got up and am running around." *She teased.*

"Not really. You're not dead...just undead. Am I making sense?" he asked.

"This is an excellent point... I don't think I ever technically died."

"Wait, so you got what I just said? Because even I didn't understand myself."
He tilted his head to one side inquisitively.

"As far as I can tell, there's three states of being: alive, dead, and undead. Undead means you aren't alive--heartbeat, aging, etc--but you aren't dead--moldering and smelly. So yeah, it makes sense."
