"Alright, enough of that, you beast."
Jason snorted and stood up, backing out of the cell and locking it again, retaking his chair before the bars and rubbing at his sore leg with a sigh.
"I have to keep watch, you know, keep anyone from wandering down and asking why I've a wolf in a cell--or a naked Javert depending on when they might choose to intrude. Hm. Next month I'll take you to Dantoun's farm and you can run all you like and never encounter a person."

The wolf gave Jason the look most animals give humans who seem to think the animal in question knows what the hell they're talking about, then proceeded to lick his own crotch for a bit, just relishing the ability that he could.
Even being a wolf doesn't keep you from realizing the awesomeness of that ability.
Suddenly, however, he lifted his head and growled softly at the sound of approaching footsteps. Why was it things always tried to interfere with his me-time?

The younger Inspector cleared his throat and looked away at the licking, color rising over his cravat and muttering something like "Christ and Buddha" before catching the sound of the feet coming downstairs himself and standing up from the chair to stare stupidly at the door, any number of what stories he could tell racing through his brain.

((*cheerfully tosses Uwe at the werewolf*))
The door swung open and Uwe came through, stake at the ready. All his supernatural sensing senses were tingly in naughty places, so there had to be something going on.
"Ah-ha!" He said, making a rather ineffective stabbing motion in Jason's general direction and looking quite ready to burst into song before his face fell.
"Vait... you aren't supernatural," Uwe!Van Helsing declared with a comically accented voice, backing up with his back towards the cell door and looking almost offended by the officer's lack of pointy bits.

Jason grunted unappreciatively and took a broad step toward the filthy little man, raising his cudgel up and jabbing then end of it into the man's chest.
"And you are under arrest for assaulting an officer of the law, you loony."

The bringer of food and cuddles did not like the thing...
The thing had jabbed at the bringer of food and cuddles...
He was hungry.
This was all the motivation the wolf needed to launch himself with a loud growl, jaws reaching through the bars and closing around the annoying thing's neck.
A loud and to most people rather sickening crack was heard as the man slumped.
Something deep inside the wolf smiled... justice had been done. Now to catch all the other crappy actors

Jason's eyes went wide a moment, then scrunched closed in annoyance and he hunched down to grab the prone man's ankle and jerk him away from the bars before any more damage could be done, saying something like "AUGH! You--you--stupid fucking bint-brained beast! What am I doing to do with this!" indicating the body before thinking to bend down--painfully--and check for a pulse.

There was no pulse to be found, there was however a rather baffled and mildly annoyed wolf on the other side of the bars.
Why wasn't Jason pleased? And why had the plaything/food thingy been taken away from him before he was done with it?
The wolf made a noise that was somewhere between a growl and a whine. It wasn't fair!

He pushed a hand through his hair, noticing distractedly that it was getting far too long--nearly down over his ears!--and then grabbed the body again and hauled it, limping painfully, near the door and leaving it there, his eyes following the streaks of blood on the floor to the pool in front of the cell, on the bars, on the wolf's muzzle. Would Javert's mouth be bloody when he returned to human form? How was he going to explain this!
"Prefect, I trapped a wolf outside the station and a loony wandered down and..." he tried outloud, shaking his head, and then "There's a murderer on the loose--no I can't explain why the man was killed in the cellblock, on my watch...damnit..." another pause, and then "Lambert did it."
He sighed again and glared at the wolf "You're going to get me arrested--hanged or guillotined."

After the obligatory growl at Lambert's name the wolf licked some more blood from his muzzle.
Really, what was all the fuss about? He just wanted his thingy back so he could eat a bit of it... or at least play with it... maybe leave a piece on Jason's pillow as a gift.
The wolf barked and met Jason's glare with the werewolf version of puppy eyes.
I can has noms?

"No! You're a bad dog--wolf! Whatever you are!"
He clutched at his hair, glanced from the body to the wolf and back again wondering how much of it the beast could consume--no, he wouldn't think that way, this was still Javert, after a fashion, he wasn't about to let him eat a man.
"God...will you just change back already?"

The wolf whined louder this time and went to curl up in a corner.
It wasn't fair! All he'd wanted was to help and now he was being called 'bad'. He wasn't a bad wolf...

He most certainly was a bad wolf.
Jason sighed and sat at the desk, pulling out the blotter, ink and paper and glancing at the body again, tendering his resignation in the face of a murder charge.

It wasn't long after the wolf fell asleep that Javert's human mind began taking over, slowly transforming him back into a man.
The inspector stretched, groaning loudly as he did so.
Oh dear... he knew that metallic taste in his mouth.
It was bad news.

"Congratulations, you've ruined my career." he muttered bitterly, not looking up from the paper and scratching away with the quill on it's surface. "And killed some nutter."
Still not looking up, Jason took the keys from his drawer and tossed them across the room, landing them on the floor where they slid and skidded into the cell between bars.
