Yager - who felt surprisingly and rather terrifyingly sane at the moment - shot a wide-eyed look at his friend.
"Please don't kill him... I'm sure he doesn't mean it that way..." he tried.

Well, this was starting to look like fun, and Buffy rather hoped they'd fight, so she could admire Charmine's prowess.
"I'm not under a spell," she said indignantly to Krolock. "He doesn't need them."

Krolock rolled his eyes at Charming.
"Really, now. Life is not a story."
He glanced back at Buffy.
"Whatever it is, there is some sort of influence over you not of the norm."
His gaze then swept over to Yager.
"I don't plan on killing anyone. Though if he should not be injured by being thrown out a window..."

Yager regarded the count for a few long moments.
Then, without saying anything, he walked over to the window and opened it.
He then proceeded to walk back to his previous position.

"Of course it is! Come on, junior, while I do have infinity, I don't wish to spend it arguing with you. Now, charge you beast!"
This man was getting on Charming's nerves. He was here to sweep away and marry a girl, not to bitch with the bad guy like some old married couple.
On the other hand... the bad guy did have a certain charm, of the dark and seductive and deliciously forbidden kind...
No, bad Prince Charming! Slay the monster, save the girl!

"Oh, let's just go," Buffy said with a sigh. "We can always say you defeated him, and stuff."
She turned to Krolock.
"And his influence is totally of the norm. For someone gorgeous and strong and suave and... and... all sword-and-horse-guy-y."

He glanced at Buffy, considering her words. He didn't want to just let this...this fop...walk off with her. But if he could avoid a fight and find a way to get her back...
A story, hmm? So he'd take her to a castle somewhere, then.
"If that is your wish, madamoiselle. I would like to avoid violence in this instance."
But it wouldn't be the end of it, oh no.

((Am I the only one who is ridiculously delighted to finally have an actual use for the word 'fop'?))
"No, that would be cheating," Charming said after some consideration. "Prince Charming does not cheat." He paused. "Unless it's for perfectly reasonable plotpoints."
The handsome prince fell silent once more, looking back and forth between Buffy and Krolock.
"We could say that the monster was quaking in fear, too frightened to even dare battle me... and I took pity." Charming nodded, as if agreeing with himself.
Yes, that would be a very admirable thing to do. Plus, an excellent plotpoint.

Krolock rolled his eyes.
"Nobody would believe that of me. Why can't you simply say there wasn't anything to fight to begin with?"

"Because it wouldn't be very heroic, that's why. And besides, you wouldn't believe what people believe, junior." Charming shook his head, amazingly great hair moving rhythmically. What was the point of rescuing a damsel in distress if there was no monster to cause that distress?
"I suppose I could toss you out the window... a scene with hanging from stuff, pleading to be pulled up and such... that always works well." Another thoughtful silence. "And it would be nice to do it as a human for a change."

"Is it just me, or can you also hear the cuckoo singing in the cuckooberry tree?" Yager muttered to Krolock.
Whoever this man might be... he clearly wasn't sane.
The implied not-always-being-human part, Yager could accept... but thinking he'd stand any chance at throwing the count out of a window... utterly bonkers.

Buffy was mesmerized by his waving hair.
"You could fight me," she said brightly. "It might be hot! Like, repressed-sexual-urges fighting."

Krolock rolled his eyes at both Charming and Buffy, turning to Yager and muttering--quietly, for his ears only--
"On my mark...pull her out of the way so I can shove him out of the window."

"I thought you'd never ask..." Yager mumbled before getting into position.
For a moment he considered just leaving her there, but then Krolock would probably get upset and... well, even Yager didn't pack enough adorableness and bellyrubs to withstand that after the amount of aggrevation the vampire had just suffered.

"Oh yes, that sounds might appealing indeed!" Charming said with a bright smile.
Had Prince Charming been an actual person with actual parents rather than a stock character that had merely popped into existence millenia ago, his actual thoughts would've gone something like this:
'Mommy!'
Still, he stood there, handsome and brave and eager to make sweet love to someone of the female persuasion after the 'sweep away and marry' part.
