Buffy giggled, feeling somewhat mollified and calmer now that part of her childhood had come to life and was annoying Yager.

Krolock, on the whole, seemed to continuously be going back and forth between a state of amusement and one of utter confoundment. It was an interest way to be.
"I haven't seen the counting compulsion in a vampire in a long time." He mused.

"Me neither and I was glad fo... what the Hell?" Yager looked around in utter confusion as he was interrupted by a rather nice bit of music.
Along with the music, a male voice... a rather nice one, in fact, sang a bit.
Tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme...
It stopped as suddenly as it had begun.

Beauty and the Beast, now?
"This place is crazy," Buffy said out loud, because hello, she was a vampire, she could be rude! "Okay, I know no one else here had Disney and Sesame Street in their childhoods, but I can't decide if that makes it weirder for me or you."

Yager snorted. "Welcome to Paris." Though he didn't know what 'childhood' had to do with it.
"Not a clue what Sesame Street is, but... the other bit, we know." He glanced at the count for a moment before making his way to the window and peering outside.
"This is probably a wrong moment to tell you this, my friend, but... there's some fop with a very white horse standing outside your castle." Thanks to the castle library, Yager knew this was generally not a good sign for vampires or other classic 'bad guys'.

Krolock's face clouded over, a very ominous thing indeed to see, as he was the master of the Dark and Broody persuasion.
"Is there really?" He asked, his voice sounding deep and rumbly.
"He, perhaps, should not set foot anywhere near my beloved."
Or else. The pause afterward seemed to say.

"Well, there is someone of the female persuasion near the door, I think. Not sure if it's Belle, though." All Yager could catch was the occasional glimpse. If only the woman would move away from the doorway...
"Want me to ask what he wants?" the vampire hunter asked, turning this way and that in an effort to make out a bit more of who exactly the man was talking to.
"If he's here to play savior, we could always let him run off with her." Yager gestured to Buffy with a look on his face somewhere between teasing and eager. "She seems to be in pretty permanent distress."

But Buffy's eyes had taken on a rather glazed look the moment she'd glanced out the window.
"How... charming," she murmured, not even hearing Yager. He was beautiful, manly-yet-attentive-to-hygiene, perfect...

Krolock only half-heard Yager, seeing the strange look that came over Buffy's face. She was dreamy...glassy-eyed...
With a growing sense of alarm, he walked over to her and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Madamoiselle? Are you all right?"

"I don't think she's been all right since I met her," Yager muttered before turning around to see what was going on.
Oh... well, she seemed to be even less right now.

Charming, meanwhile, sensed the adoring gaze that was upon him. Adoring gazes were often upon him and he knew the feeling rather well.
With a brilliant smile he looked up and gave the blond lady a charming little wave.
Well, clearly he still had it, that at least was a comfort of sorts. He'd come all this way to free an 'H' who apparently was no longer in need of rescuing... but at least he'd know there would be some young woman dreaming of her Prince Charming tonight. After all, who knew what such chance meetings could lead to?
He himself had been in all too many stories where a brief encounter was the spark that would ignite the flame of the all-consuming fire of love.
A rather handsome frown touched Charming's perfect brow when he saw a hand appear on her shoulder. It was high up and he shouldn't be able to see it, but he did because he was Prince Charming and just noticed such things. It was part of the job he'd been doing since the existence of humanity and their stories, practice did indeed make perfect in his case.
The hand was all too pale and long-nailed and attached to far too large a shadow to be anything good.
Had he been tricked?

"Hmm?" Buffy murmured absently. "I'm perfect."
Then came Charming's little wave, and her heart fluttered in her chest, despite that whole vampire thing.
"He waved!" she turned to the other men. "Did you see that? How's my hair?"

"Your hair looks lovely, my dear."
He turned to Yager, lowering his voice.
"She is bespelled, I think. By that man down there."

"Oh... goody." This girl really was quite a lot of trouble.
Yager glanced outside again.
"The fop just drew his sword and is presently rushing inside... thought you might want to know."

Charming had indeed pulled out his sword. Clearly he had been tricked!
Oh, what a fool he was! Then again, it was probably part of whatever story he was currently in and therefore he couldn't really blame himself.
The prince dashed through pretty much the entire castle before bursting into the library, sword in hand.
He wasn't panting, of course. Panting wouldn't make for a very heroic entrance... and since Charming wasn't really real, but still perfect, that wouldn't do.
"Unhand her, you... monster!" He yelled as he struck the pose of heroic righteousness.
Until he knew what story he was in and what he was dealing with, 'monster' would do just fine.
