*A tall, blond woman in a Greek outfit arrived at the inn. She looked around to see if she could find someone to help her.
She didn't speak much of the language here, but she had learned a few words. And she understood the language much better than she spoke it.
Now Helen of Troy was out in the world for the first time in her life, and she hoped the Fates would be kind to her.*
"Hello?" *She called out in her somewhat broken English, colored with a strong accent.* "Is anybody here?"

Kiba's ears pricked as someone entered the building. Barely two minutes after he'd gotten the pup to a safer spot, and there was already an intruder? This place is worse off than I thought! he groused, heading into the room as he put up his human disguise. The speaker was a light-haired female, who seemed nervous and spoke rather oddly as she called whoever was in hearing range (meaning him)--Kiba didn't speak any particular language, but humans had multitudes of them and it was clear that she wasn't comfortable speaking whatever language she was using. She definitely wasn't a threat, so he relaxed somewhat and asked her, "What are you doing here?" ((Kiba looks like this, by the way: It was never addressed in the show, but it's implied that the Wolf's Rain wolves can "speak" any language, since they're understood by pretty much everyone. ))

((Very nice picture. He is handsome. Since Helen isn't comfortable speaking English, would you mind if she spoke her ancient Greek when she's speaking to Kiba? I don't speak Greek, so I will of course write in English, and only tell you she is saying things in Greek )) *Helen of Troy looked surprised when she noticed a wolf turning in to a human. She knew nobody who could do that, except from.... She blushed deeply and looked up at him with her clear blue eyes and stuttered in Greek.* "Zeus??? My name is Helen. I am a princess of Troy, recently arrived to this world...."

((Don't worry, it's all right that you don't know ancient Greek. )) "Zeus? Who's that?" There was a marked change in how easily she spoke (there was a difference between stuttering and lack of fluency), but Helen was definitely calling him the wrong name. "My name is Kiba. This is... my territory, I suppose," he finished.

((Great It makes my role easier to play that I can stick to English )) *Helen looked up at the man, a bit confused. Now that he mentioned it, he didn't look like any statue of Zeus she had seen. She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. They had not heard about Zeus here? What kind of heathens were they? She replied in Greek, it was easier for her to speak, and he seemed to understand anyway.* "Zeus is a god. The main god, and the leader of Olympus. You've never heard of him?" *Her voice contained wonder that there was someone who had not heard of him.* "But - but I saw you transform from a wolf to a man! Only the gods can do that. Are you a god?"

"No... I'm a wolf," he answered. "I'm only using this form because you would have probably run away otherwise."
He was about to call her out on how smart she sounded, but remembered that she'd been dumped in this place not too long ago, and he wasn't the epitome of adaptivity himself. Plus, while she was surprised at his "transformation" between his two forms, she hadn't been too surprised to see the wolf part.
At least, considering the circumstances.
"Where I lived, wolves could take on human form," he explained. "We had to, or else humans would kill us. I'm not sure if there are other wolves like me here, but I'm definitely not a god."
((NOT A GOD!! That was an unfortunate typo!))

((Thanks for telling me. I edited my post.)) *Helen looked up at him and smiled, blushing a little. She continued speaking to him in Greek, grateful that he understood her.* "Oh, I would never run away from you. That would be respectless. My parents raised me strictly. Besides, you look big and strong. You could easily catch up with me if you wanted to." *She smiled shyly, and when she spoke, there was admiration and respect in her voice.* "I am sorry that the humans in your place would kill wolves. In Sparta and Troy, where I am a princess, wolves are sacred. It is strictly forbidden to kill them. We even have gods who depicts wolves."

*Brandi rubbed her head as she came downstairs. Things were...complicated. She hated it. Hated everything that stood between them. Her eyes flashed up, suddenly aware of a couple in the room. She managed a sweet professional smile.*
"Can I help you?"
*She walked towards the counter.*

*Helen of Troy turned to the young woman that recently had appeared, and bowed her head, with her hand on her chest. It was typical for the Spartans to greet someone in this manner.*
"Kalimera," *She said politely in Greek. Then she remembered that people here probably didn't understand her language, and continued in her broken English with the Greek accent.*
"My name is Helen, princess of Troy. I would like to rent a room, please."
((Translation: Kalimera is the Greek word for Good day))

He heard the woman coming down the stairs, so he wasn't too surprised when she came in.
He was surprised when she barged into the conversation as if she were another alpha. She couldn't even watch her pups properly, and she was trying to deal with complete strangers? How would she try to make an actual threat leave? Run past the territory's boundary and hope they chased her?
Helen didn't mind the rudeness and even greeted her, but he drew himself to his full height (his human form was quite tall) and informed the woman bluntly, "You need to watch your pups better before you try dealing with strangers. One of them got outside last night--if I hadn't come here, he would have gotten lost."
Or eaten, he added to himself.
That done, he returned his attention to Helen. Wolves were respected where she lived? It sounded a bit like the shaman's people. "Wolves were probably left alone at first, but humans started fearing us so they tried to kill us off."

*Brandi bristled slightly, confused by that manner of address. She was just doing her job, as it were. She straightened, her eyes sharp.*
"If one of the puppies was hassling you, I'm sorry. I've been away on business. It won't happen again. You're together then?" *She questioned, trying to ascertain the situation as politely as possible, but she was on edge.*
"Would you like to pay by the night or the week?"

*If Helen was shocked by the wolfman and the young woman quarreling, she didn't show it. She was brought up by strict rules, and one of them was never to lose face in front of others. Pride was a big deal with the Greek culture. She smiled a confused little smile and replied in her broken English, to both of them.*
"I am sorry to hear that wolves are being killed. I hope the puppies are safe."
*She looked at Brandi and smiled friendly.*
"I would like to pay by the week, please. I have stranded here, and do not know for how long I will have to stay."
*She found her purse. At least she had enough money. She looked at Brandi, waiting to hear the price for the room.*

Kiba's lip curled and he quite nearly growled at the woman when she still had delusions of remaining alpha, but he once again forced himself to remember that what was obvious for him (his scent was all over the entrance and in the hallways!) was hard, if not impossible, for humans to detect.
Now, what was the most blatant sign he could think of?
"I'm not looking for a place to stay." He dropped his human illusion, leaving only his true form as a large white wolf. Since nobody was watching the pups, I decided to take over defending the territory, he continued telepathically.
Which meant, in nicer terms, that he was the new alpha.
And the pups are fine, he told Helen.

*Brandi's eyes widened. That was a new one for her. But she wasn't about to let anyone, man or beast, tell her that this was no longer her home. Not when she had put up with so much crap. Her shoulders hunched instinctively, dropping to a fighting stance, her eyes hard on the wolf. With one hand, she gestured to the woman.*
"Get somewhere safe."
*She felt the adrenaline start to course through her. She'd never fought a wolf, at least not since the training with Ashur. But she'd wrestled Fen plenty and knew a thing or two about canine behavior. At least...normal canine behavior. Who knew what this was? She drew her lips back slightly, though her teeth were obviously less impressive.*
"The pups are under my care. If you can accept that, you are welcome to stay. If not..."
*Though she did not shift, her expression grew quite feral.*
"I will prove that I am more than capable." *She snarled.*

*Helen had caused the Trojan war. She didn't like to see another war coming up. For some reason, she couldn't help but feel that this war too was her fault. She lowered her head humbly.*
"I'll be in the next room if you need me."
*She said quietly, and slipped through the nearest door.*
