((Omg yeah, Bledel is so cute. ^__^)) *Becca laughed.* "Oh dear--I do hope I don't disappoint." *She lowered her voice to a conspiratorial tone.* "Ninety percent of those present at my wedding this morning did not warrant one having a care for any of their opinions, but you, I am quite eager to impress, as we are to be sisters now until the end of the world; or until your brother realizes he's married an awkward little girl who likes to spend her days riding horses, climbing trees, daubing paint on canvas and getting generally filthy. Whichever comes first." "Oh my god, and here I'm the one hoping I wouldn't disappoint you. Let's hope I don't make you think I'm the weird sibling." *She was grinning* "And I'd love to say sisters! I'm pretty sure Rudolf would never be so foooolish--right?" The last bit, she directed at her brother.

*Rudolf had looked a bit at a loss as his sister and wife started straight into conversation, and it had taken him a moment to catch up to them, physically as well as the conversation itself.*
"Right. You both will have plenty of time to get acquainted."

Scarlett's eyes slid tellingly to Andrew, then back to his brother. "Oh, we're quite happy," she said, aware of the fiction they were supposed to keep up. "But I'm afraid I'm altogether too silly to tell anything important to." "Silly..." *murmured Tony, looking her over. He may be drunk and depressed, but he wasn't stupid.* "Is that what you've made him believe?"

*Her grin softened to something less goofy*
"Me, too. My family's kind of small, and I always wanted a sister."
*She sounded cautious, as though she wasn't quite sure if she could say that yet.*

"Silly..." *murmured Tony, looking her over. He may be drunk and depressed, but he wasn't stupid.* "Is that what you've made him believe?" Her green eyes hardened slightly, though she made an effort to keep her tone light. "That's what he's determined to believe; and what he married." God forbid she attempt to exhibit any force of character after the first blush of her infatuation with him. She looked at Tony again, spurred perhaps by the man's level of intoxication to be less than polite. "What happened to you?"

"...what DIDN'T happen to me?" *murmured Tony roughly.* "The woman who loved me...the woman who saved my life...well, I loved her, but I couldn't save her life."

Read? Ride? Draw? Paint? Write? Fight?"

Scarlett felt immediate guilt for asking, even if it was terribly romantic and exciting.
"Oh," she said, not knowing what the proper response was, beyond, "I'm so sorry."

"Everyone is," *said Tony bleakly.* "But I may offer my thanks for your sentiments on the matter with as much true feeling as you offer with them."

Her mouth puckered a little. He was mocking her, like Andrew, like everyone who thought she was a thoughtless ninny. Well it wasn't her fault that she wasn't used to being sympathetic, or caring about people she'd never met, or... or... Her mother would have known what to say.
He wasn't very well bred, was he? Well, he was drunk.
"I suppose there's something I could possibly have said to make things better," she said.

Scarlett wasn't sure what she was supposed to do about it, aside from become a better actress in order to sound more sincere when it seemed necessary. She decided she was sorry, because it meant that Andrew's brother was depressed and drunk and on top of that possibly upsetting her husband, it was all sorts of no fun for her.
"Well... your sister found love again, didn't she?" Scarlett offered.

Fight?" *Treszka laughed* "Definitely love to read and write, though I think my writing is crummy. Of course," she said, as Rudolf opened his mouth to say something, "I know some who'd disagree with me."
