Still keeping him firmly pressed down, Marlow leaned over him and lapped at the wounds, then sat up and finally let him go.
"Cover them that they do not become infected and kill you before you can be changed."

Muttering something in Spanish, Maleo turned his head to finally take a breath of air when he was let go. "Yes... I do not... want to have to ruin the marks..." he panted, slowly sitting up, casting around his room to find some sort of bandage.
"Sheets will do," he muttered, staggering to his wardrobe to pull out the extra sheets. Wobbly on both feet, he just started ripping the cleaned cotton into long strips until he had half the thing in a shredded pile; the rest he would save for later.
"Thank you," he said finally, turning around to wrap himself, the cloth quickly turning red where it crossed his back.

Marlow rumbled and pulled the pile over to himself, roughly turning Maleo on the bed and then bandaging him with slow, methodical wraps, making sure everything was smooth and secure around his torso, occasionally ghosting his claws down the marks over the bandages.
"The bleeding will stop soon. Are you now tired?"

Maleo stood in front of Marlow like a good little boy and held onto the bigger man's shoulders to keep his arms out of the way (and not collapse onto him).
"Some, yes..." he murmured, dazedly lifting a hand from Marlow's shoulder to run his fingers down the Strigoi's pale cheek. "How many more visits until I am complete?" he asked, his accent a little thicker with his exhaustion.

"Difficult to say." He had no idea, really, as he'd never made another before. "You are not showing any signs yet. It may be some time."
Marlow's longer hand curled over Maleo's and his lids drooped a bit for a moment before lifting again and he pulled the man back into his long embrace, bringing his clawed thumb up to his own neck and slicing a deep and jagged gash which did not--and would not--bleed until he let it.
He curled his hand around Maleo's skull and pulled him forward.

Getting the silent message, Maleo leaned in and kissed the bloodless gash, lightly clamping his mouth around the wound, waiting until he would taste Marlow's blood - or whatever vampires "bled."

What came up was thick, black and bitter and oozed slowly into the Spaniard's mouth. This, of course, wasn't necessary for the change, but Marlow thought that, with Maleo's unusual tastes, he might enjoy it. He pressed his hand into the man's torn and bandaged back and growled softly.

Grunting at the taste, Maleo sucked at the gooey liquid, pulling back to watch a little of it ooze out before he lapped it away. Repeating the process a few times, Maleo sank back on Marlow's knees, stopping himself before he got greedy.
"Father, I will have to leave this place and come live with you, will I not?" he asked curiously, using his legs to hang onto the bigger man's waist.

The wound closed, after a moment, leaving an oily black smear on the vampire's pale neck.
"Eventually. Do you not wish it?" He tilted his head a bit and slid his hand down to the small of Maleo's back to hold him steady. Of course, before the man could come to live with him, he'd have to find his own housing, he couldn't very well bring Maleo into Vicente's house.

"Merely curious. There are so many things humans write about vampires that have been proven so terribly wrong. I want to learn all I can from you." He smirked a moment and leaned in to lick away the smear, then sat back once more. He poked at his teeth with the tip of a pointed tongue, wondering when they would start to grow more.
"Do you remember being turned?" he asked after a moment of silence, reaching to push back a strand of hair that had managed to dislodge itself.

"No." he said plainly and reached out to tuck the hair behind the man's ear. "I was never human, as you think of it." and, as far as he knew, he and Vicente's other children--six in all--were the last "originals" and he doubted even Vicente could recall from where they had come, or how or why. He mere...existed.
"It will be painful, in the final days." he smirked a bit, his first showing anything resembling human facial expression. "You will enjoy it, I think. But it may become too much even for you. I will stay with you, care for you."

"We'll see," challenged Maleo, sitting up a little bit at the prospect of actually feeling real agony. His expression going vacant for a few moments, he left himself to ponder what it would exactly feel like...
"I've experienced many maladies of the human body... if it is something entirely new, I could call the work on myself complete," he said after his thoughts were finished. "And I would like having you here for it, to watch what you have done..."

He gave an appreciative growl and stood, dropping Maleo to his feet.
"I have brought you something. You do not truly like to rest, I understand. But as Strigoi you must. And you will rest better thus."
The vampire opened his coat and pulled out two large, well-folded and tied parcels, opening them up and spreading them on the bed to reveal two oilcloths laden with moist black earth, just enough to make a small pile of a nest for someone Maleo's size.

"Ooh, thank you..." he crooned musically, taking a deep breath of the soil, giving a pleased hum when he exhaled.
"I suppose this is temporary until we can rest together?" he asked, reaching to smooth some of the soil with his fingertips. "I hope that will be soon..." he murmured, more excited to feel the change than he was over a new companion. However, when the thought of Marlow leaving him came to his mind, it made him pout. "I should rest, then..." he said quietly, moving to change out of his trousers and boots into his pajamas.

"Yes." He agreed and lifted the oilclothes to spread them on the floor, overlapping and piling the dirt together while Maleo changed.
"This is from my nest, this earth. You will rest well in it because it carries some of my...life? in it. You will be comforted."
