He turned his head a bit to eye the man--what a strange child--and left his gaze there, staring, unblinking, since he could not rest.

Maleo was out as soon as his spine stiffened up on him and he felt pain sink in - sleeping fitfully through the remainder of the night. He tossed, he turned, he flopped onto his stomach at one point, then would roll onto his back again as if nothing happened, then repeated for a couple hours until he stopped in an awkward position and stayed there.

He watched the boy unblinkingly for hours, curious about him, but only a little. Only because he was so strange--he would never be so curious about Mheef otherwise. Of course, this little thing was on his way now to becoming NaMheef, and that thought prompted the vampire to study him a bit more closely.
He was pretty, in a dark way. Long, sharp teeth would enhance his features, though hairloss might hinder it a bit. As third generation, however, he might not loose it at all. It was doubtful that he would gain any height at any rate...
After a bit longer, before dawn, Marlow found himself crouched, perched on the back of a chair which he pulled over near the young man, still and watching.

Sometime after dawn's break, Maleo slowly sat up, groaning with the ache throughout his whole body. He had almost forgotten about his visitor when he looked to the drawn chair and large figure perched on it. Like a handsome vulture... he thought drowsily, smoothing back his rumpled hair with one hand.
"Mmmm, feels like I have hardly slept," said the man aloud, stretching his arms and legs, then, he bounced to his feet despite the small living space.

"You may continue to rest." The vampire intoned in his strange accent and dropped off the back of the chair, looking a bit more gaunt and lifeless than the night before, the black of his eyes shot red around.
"I cannot rest here at all."

"Where will you find your rest?" he asked, curious as to where he would have to go to find the man again. Already, he felt like Marlow's leave would be the kind to break his heart, and for once, he did not want such agony.
"Will I be able to find you?"

"I will come to you, after I've rested and fed. Do not try to find me, you could be hurt, and I would not want that." his long, clawed fingers flexed a bit and lifted, the backs of them stroking down the young man's cheek as he said something in that foreign tongue again--a language Maleo would, eventually, pick up.

Maleo shivered at the touch of the cool fingers against his cheek and watched the claws moving away from his face.
"What does that mean, Uram?" he asked vacantly, his own accent warping the foreign word a bit once he had his wits about him to realize he'd been spoken to.

Marlow blinked at him once, tilting his head a bit, as usual unaware that he'd slipped back into the natural language for him.
"Our link will be very strong." he repeated, in French and stroked down the opposite cheek, this time letting his sharp and jagged (and filthy) thumbnail drag down the man's face, raising a line of blood.

Shivering at the slice to his face, Maleo looked like he twitched (or had a violent and extremely brief seizure) and caught his face a little deeper on Marlow's claw, closing his eyes to enjoy the sting.
"Will this scar?" he asked after a few moments, indicating the nice little gouge he had given himself.

"It is not that deep. But if you are asking if you can yet be injured, permanently damaged, then yes. Until you are changed you are vulnerable."
His nostrils flared and he leaned down, the long, pointed tongue slipping out of his mouth and and over the cut, cleaning it up and granting Marlow another small taste of his claimed human. He let out a low growl.

Maleo almost felt his legs give out from underneath him. Though he hand never really given people in general a second thought other than "how loud can they scream," Maleo was finding himself enamored with his beastly new sire.
"Hhnnmmm... before I am... changed..." he panted, steadying himself with a hand on either of Marlow's broad shoulders, "Damage me with your own mark," he requested, sounding unusually gentle, though his expression was both lustful and expectant.

The Strigoi bared his teeth and gave a sort of pleased grunt that sounded like "aht" before standing upright again.
"After I have rested. Tonight when I come back to you." It was an...enthralling prospect and he would have to consider just what sort of mark to leave, how to make it, and where to put it.

"Very well," he conceded, bowing his head, sinking to his feet, not realizing he had pushed himself up on tip toe until he was on his heels again.
"I cannot wait until you come back," he said, his face blooming into another rare smile. He almost wanted to beg Marlow to stay, but knew better if the elder was to get his rest. "If I have not returned from my performance, you may let yourself in," he said, going to his small, broken vanity to produce the key to his apartment.
"That way you will not have to be bothered with the rest of the rabble."

"Mm." Marlow had ways of getting into rooms. But the key was accepted anyway, slipped into the pocket of his stained trousers before he turned to go, needed to make it back to the house before the sun rose fully.
