"... you would... sell her?" *He asked incredulously.*

*Jean-François shook his head with a distasteful expression.*
"Oh no, of course not. I am not such a barbarian." *He gestured slightly with his one hand.*
"How can I even think to sell that which already belongs to you, sir?" *He continued snidely.* "What I am asking for is compensation for damages done to myself. Is that not fair?"

*If he attempted to think about it on those lines (attempting was a stretch for his admittedly-slightly-naive mind) it... sort of almost made sense. He thought. Possibly.*
*He had to take a moment to pick the little bits of his brain up off the floor collect himself.*
"Should I have my solicitors contact yours?"

((Don't you hate it when they start to make sense?))
"That will be perfectly acceptable." *Jean-François nodded politely.* "Send the papers with it and I will sign them then."
*He turned to Johanna.*
"And you, my sweet? Are you willing to do anything to stay with such a generous benefactor?"

*Johanna felt horrible about herself by now, but she nodded*

*He took Johanna's hand with in firm but gentle move.*

"Then I would have a lock of your lovely yellow hair." *Jean-François stated simply.*

"That's all?"
*It sounded reasonable enough*

*Jean-François's brows lifted. They always seemed so surprised.*
"I told you, I am not cruel. I only wish it so I might remember your beauty...the times we shared...on the lonely nights that will come."
*He drew a long, very sharp blade from his belt.*
"And that matter might be dealt with without the need for the solicitors."

*Johanna fought back tears*
"I'm so sorry..."
*She took a step forward so that he could cut her hair, looking guilty despite the fact that he was the one who'd raped his sister*

*He sighed.*
"You'll have to hold it for me, dear. I fear I lack the dexterity with one hand to both hold and cut. And you wouldn't want me to slip, now would you?"

"Higher, my sweet." *Jean-François purred, inching her hand up further along with the blade, up the lock she held. Finally, he nodded, there was a flick of his wrist and the lock was cut, held in her other hand. It was long and would take some time to grow to the same length as the rest of her hair, a reminder of what she'd given up.*
"Could you please braid it, that I might carry more easily?" *He asked gently.*

*This was excessively strange, and he didn't quite know why, but he was uncomfortable. More so than he had been since de Morangias had walked in the door.*
