A few days after his released from his centuries--was it longer?--of captivity, he was beginning to recover some of his strength. These new elves had made accomadations specially for him, building a small and comfortable home into a cliff face above the river. Because of it's occupant, they jokingly called the new little dwelling "The Birdhouse" and the name was sticking. It was difficult for ground-dwelling elves to reach, but a long and perilous set of stone steps were carved out of the rockface, and it was this tiring journey Dewshine would have to take each time she wised to leave Tyldak's new home to visit with her parents or friends.
Her administrations, her care toward him was improving his health quickly. He had gained back some of his lost weight, his body growing taught and lean again, some of his color returning with exposure to the sun. When the little Wolfrider slept at night, Tyldak left his sickbed to take flight and work his wings, and to watch the goings-on of Lorien.

*Dewshine woke up bright and early next morning. She snuck out of bed and got dressed before leaving her room. Then she went in to the kitchen and started making breakfast. She knew very well that he had problems eating without hands, so she made it easier by cutting up his food into tiny pieces. She also brought him freshly pressed juice. She made a nice breakfast table before she shouted.*
"Wake up, Sleepyhead. Breakfast is ready!"

He grumbled at her disrespectful address of him, but rose up from his comfortable bed and unfolded his wings from around himself, stretching and appreciating the open view from the great "window" in the wall of his bedroom that allowed him direct contact with the air, and a place to fly from and come back to in privacy. A few moments later he was ducking through the curtained archway of his bedroom, wings folded in front of himself. Tyldak eyed Dewshine with disdain, casting a disapproving glance over the food on the table. Fruit and bread again. He sneered down at her and spoke--his voice had regained it's strength and timbre, now sharp and commanding in that cutting accent of the Old Tongue.
"Always you prepare fruit and bread, juices--plants! Where are your hunters, Wolfrider? Where is the meat!"

*Her bright blue eyes eyes darkened, and there was a gentle pout in her fully lips.*
"The Wolfriders don't hunt the animals. We are called hunters because we hunt humans! For justice! I refuse to eat meat. And I refuse to prepare meat. If you want meat, you will make it yourself!"

Tyldak drew himself up, towering over the little groundling and opening his wings threateningly.
"Your Elder has commanded you to my care--to treat me with respect. My people cannot live well without meat. You say you hunt humans? Very well then, groundling, bring me one!"
He flexed one wing up angrily, upturning the table and scattering the carefully prepared breakfast across the floor before turning back toward his room.

*Dewshine looked up at him in horror. Then her temper got the best of her.*
"I am NOT your slave! I was told to take care of you. But I refuse to slaughter anyone just because you are a greedy bloodsucking bastard!"

The bird-elf wheeled back around with a snarl, bowing his long body over her and delivering a sharp blow across her face with the wrist of one wing. "Bastard?! Pure blood flows in my veins--the same cannot be said of you, wolf-child! You are useless! I have no more need for your care, I will hunt for myself."

*Dewshine went into her room and packed the few things she had brought with her. Few because she hated this place and longed for her release. But when he didn't want her here, Haldir couldn't make her stay, could he?*
That greedy, bloodsucking idiot! He calls himself pure, even if he kills for joy. Bloody murderer! I won't see him again. Ever! He can take care of his house himself!
*Without another word she went out of the house and jumped down the stairs towards the part of the forest where she lived with her parents.*

"Infuriating child!" He roared and turned himself to his own room, launching from the platform that extended from the huge arched window there and soaring over the river, over the trees, until his form disappeared from view.
He would hunt for himself--the sharp talons of his feet were weapon enough, and it was easy to swoop down upon a deer as a hawk would a mouse, break the back and rend the flesh...of course he was used to cooked meat, but this was better than nothing. He had eaten worse...much worse.
After a few days, he found he could carry smaller prey in his clawed feet back to his nest where he could eat--it was so messy without hands--in private, and soon the riverbank far below his house was littered with discarded carcases, bones drying in the sun, upturned skulls staring eyeless and accusingly toward the sky.
But a week on, and his home was a gruesome and stinking mess. Though he dropped the spent carcasses out the portal of his bedroom, the blood messes from his feeding still stained and stunk in the house--the food he'd angrily upturned before Dewshine had left had spoilt and turned into a greenish, unidentifiable mass which attracted buzzing flies and biting bugs. Tyldak himself was constantly bloodstained about his face and feet and anyone who saw him now whispered that the Birdhouse had become a vulture's nest.

*Dewshine was only too happy to be home again fron the Birdhouse. She hated the terrible man who lived there. And she started regretting that she had released him. A couple of days after she came home, she went out on the green meadows to pick some flowers for the dinner table at home. The sun was shining down on her golden curls, her bright blue eyes were glittering in the sunshine, and she sang an Elvish song as she worked.*

The bird-elf was not used to living in freedom without the assistance of servants, and though he had been captive in a pitch dark cave for centuries, he had not forgotten his former high status and the dignity of living as a High One. The state of his home--and himself--was shameful. Though he was now well-fed, he was hardly better off than he'd been when the Wolfrider girl had freed him from his prison. Though he despised it, assistance was needed, and he was too proud to present himself to Haldir or any of the others in his current state. Assistance would--could only!--come from the one who had seen him in worse condition.
Tyldak glided over the Kingdom, following the river, veering over the trees and the holds of the elves, looking for that glint of bright gold. Several times he swooped low only to find the blonde he saw belonged to one of the taller beings, and he would rise up again, startling the ground-dwelling elves.
When he finally found her, picking flowers in a field like the child she was, he landed some distance away, far enough, he hoped, not to send her running, close enough for her to see the state of him. Caked in dried blood, the hair he did have matted and filthy, bruised and battered from diving through threes after prey. The sheet that he'd been given to wear was torn and soiled and hung off of him almost indecently, but he left his wings open, hoping she would notice the mess he'd made of himself, and said nothing, still staying a few yards away from her.

*Dewshine was just savoring the smell from a lovely bouquet of flowers, when she noticed an incredible....stench.... mix in. For a moment she stared down at the flowers in disbelief. The she realized that the stench couldn't possibly come from them. If she thought of it, she had noticed a stench like this one once before. Her cute little nose wrinckled disapprovingly as she turned around and noticed Tyldak standing there. She cursed silently by the sight of him.*
Oh, bloody h..., not again!!!

I see you are not pleased that I have found you, Wolfling.
He tried to make his Sending seem humble, and he came toward her cautiously. Would she notice? He could not ask for help, it would be too shameful.

*As he came closer to her, she backed away. The stench from him were just as unbearable as it had been the first time. She cringed and wrinckled her cute nose disapprovingly.*
You need a bath....

Ah good! It was turning in his favor. He would have to craft his words carefully.
"A bath will clean me only temporarily. The moment I set foot in my home, I will be soiled again."
He came a little closer and finally let his wings fold closed in front of himself, hiding his dirtied form.
