*A shade of panic appeared in her eyes, and her entire body froze as he reached out to touch her. Then she threw herself aside, almost violently, to avoid his touch.*
Leave me alone! Haven't you caused enough damage?

He frowned and pulled his wing back, standing again.
I will leave you alone, but you must eat, you must take care for the cub if not for yourself.

*Dewshine had curled into a ball again, shutting the rest of the world out. The life she knew before had been a happy life, filled with love, gentle words, kind behavior and no problems. Now that life was disappeared into the shadows forever.*
Leave me alone, monster. Let me die in peace.

Tyldak sighed turned to leave the room. He would leave her be for now, for a few days perhaps, to gather her wits again and to feel the little life start to grow inside her. Then he would approach her again. When she could think.
Rest, Lree...

*Dewshine drifted off to sleep. In her dreams she was walking in the green forests of Lorien. At first everything was peaceful. But then the dream changed. She was being followed by a big, dark creature with wings. No matter how fast she ran, she couldn't get away from him. He flied after her and the claws of his feet grabbed her by the shoulders......*
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!"
*Her scream was still ringing in her ears as she sat up in bed, staring around her in panic. Her tiny body was trembling in fear, her tears streaming down her face.*

Tyldak was in her room in an instant, the wrists of his wings gently pushing her back--gently, not insistently.
Lree! What has happened? Did you see some demon?

*Dewshine was so afraid that she didn't think. She wrapped her arms around him and snuggled as close to him as she possibly could. The tears were streaming down her face.*
I dreamed that I was raped in the forest - by a creature with wings!

He sat still for a moment and then slowly curled his wings around her, holding her tightly to him.
You forget who you are with, Lree...
He sighed and flexed his longer fingers against her back. It wasn't a stroke, but it was as good as he could manage.
So now, I will always haunt your nightmares? What will you tell our cub of me?

*For one moment Dewshine froze when she remembered who had raped her in the forest. But then she slowly relaxed. Strangely enough, it felt safe to sit like this, close to him, and with his arms around her.*
I forgot for a moment. But strangely enough, I feel safe when you hold me like this. I don't think I will be capable of telling anyone about this...

Do you feel better now? You have rested some, you should eat. For the cub.
He perched awkwardly up on the nestbed and kept his wings around her.

*Dewshine managed to find her food without leaving his comforting embrace, and munched it carefully. She wasn't hungry, but did it for the cub. Then she rested in his arms, with her head against his chest.*

"You are much more sensible now."
He muttered and let her rest where she was, lowering his head and closing his own eyes, tired.

*Dewshine waited until he fell asleep. Then she quietly stood up and left the house. She moved slowly and painfully, her body still tender after the rape, but she had to get away.
She reached the valley after what seemed like an eternity. This time she didn't walk to her parent's house but to the deep forests. A grey wolf came out of the shadows and followed her to the deepest part of the forest. There she sat down and leaned against a tree. The wolf laid his head in her lap in sympathy and she scratched him behind the ear gently.
The forest were quiet and gave peace to her troubled mind. The moon and stars were shining down on the little elf girl and her wolf.*

Upon waking and finding his wings emptied, the Glider supposed that Lree had made her choice. He silently wondered at the unborn child and then took to the air, leaving the valley, leaving Lorien to discover the way of things.

*Dewshine was laying in the shadow of a tree, looking up at the sky. She noticed a creature with wings, much larger than a bird. And her heart told her that he was leaving. A silent tear trickled down her cheek, and the pain in her heart grew as she watched him leave. But she knew she had made the right choice.*
Fare well, Glider. I will never forget you. But I am a Wolfrider, and you are a High One. It was Recognition, yes, but a recognition without love. And without love, we are nothing.
I hope you one day find a Recognition that you can be proud of, and who you can love back, with pride. In my heart, there will always be a Glider named Tyldak. You will be missed, more than you know.
