"Hehe...yeah, I'm one of the inserts. I brought my clothes with me from home."
*She was rather glad to see modern kitchen implements. She'd started missing things like that*
"And, you got any Mountain Dew? Soda is kind of rare in this place."

"Sure thing, want it in the can for the novelty?"
*He always loved making this dish, and as he pulled out the french rolling pin and began smashing a chicken breast into flatness it became obvious why.*
"Doh... sorry. Forgot to get your drink before the smashey smashey... might be a bit unprofessional but seeing as how I've not charged a Sue yet would you mind stepping back here and snagging one out of the fridge. And since were both inserts feel free to grab a seat at the bar if you'd like."
*Jeremy motioned to the open kitchen around him and the counter that separated them.*
"And yeah... I could manifest this stuff but I get pleasure out of this kind of stuff."
*He smiled, bacon popping happily in the pan and spiced flour up to his elbows.*

"I love it best in cans...dunno why, exactly. Oh, but don't worry about it being unprofessional--I don't mind chatting at countertops."
*She happily retrieved the drink from the refrigerator, finding it in cans and loving that it was. Drink in tow, she pulled up a seat to the counter and watching the preparations*
"I'm a sort of wizard in this place, so I could just wave a hand, too...but I'd rather get it the normal way if I can."

*Jeremy grinned and drained the bacon, crumbling it and putting a handful into the greens. The rest was wrapped up in the breaded chicken breast with a handful of cheese and dropped into the hot oil. Soon it was popping and sizzling.*
"Considering the artery clogging nature of this a little supernaturalness will probably help if you decide to eat it regularly."
*He looked at the food cooking and then up to his customer.*
"Name's Jeremy by the way. And welcome to my place."
*He wiped his hand quickly and offered it over the counter.*

"I'm Sarah." She said, shaking his hand.
"And I don't worry about eating stuff like this all the time. It doesn't seem to do me any harm, not even when I was back home."
*She glanced at the chicken, already eager to sink her teeth into it*

*Jeremy nods and slices up a quarter stick of butter into the rice to melt.*
"It's comfort food to me... well comfort food stepped up a bit. But I've always cooked with tons of butter and really rich heavy foods. And always wanted a place where I can cook what I want and if the customer doesn't like it he can go eat somewhere else."
*He started plating the food meticulously and added a biscuit filled with cinnamon butter to the plate. Happy he slid the platter across the counter and handed her a set of silver wrapped in a napkin.*
"That chicken's still pretty hot, especially the filling.... so... what are you doing here.. other than working your magic?"

*She chuckled*
"I like how you think when it comes to food."
*Her mouth watered when the aroma of the chicken met her nose*
"Ohhh, I always take a bite out of something that hasn't completely cooled. I don't know why...I think my stomach wants the food before brain can tell it to wait a moment."

"Yeah I was always one of those kids who put my hand on the stove after being told it was hot. Had to experience it for myself. I'm the same way with food... and everything generally. Try everything twice... every few months, is my idea of a good way to live. Tastes change... you never know what you might like that you didn't like six months ago."
*Jeremy took a sip of his coke and started cleaning up a bit. Fried chicken always made such a mess, one of the reasons he liked cooking it.*

"I always do it with pizza...burn the roof of my mouth."
*She cut a bite of chicken, holding it up a moment to blow on it before popping the morsel in her mouth.*
"Mmm!"

"Yum sounds will get you everywhere..."
*He grinned and set some of the messier dishes into the sink to soak.*
"Anything else I can get you? Be thinking about dessert while you eat... it's not my specialty and my normal dessert chef is tied up at the moment but I can whip up a few things if needed."

*She tapped the fork against the chicken for a moment*
"Cookies?"

"Going easy on me? Much appreciated. So Sarah... where you from before you showed up here?"
*Jeremy sorted through some of the mixing bowls and supplies.*
Now where did Brandi put that vanilla?
"Chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, peanut butter? What's your poison?"
*He watched her enjoy the food, it always made him smile to see someone enjoying his cooking.*

"I was in Florida before the 'verse. I purposefully came here to confront a character of mine, but I've sort of lost track of her and I haven't really done much myself."
*She frowned. Plot, it seemed, tried hard to avoid her*
"I'm hoping she's not causing too much havoc...
Oh, and chocolate chip would be awesome."

"I get that... I came here because I always wanted a place like this and because Brandi exposed me to the verse so much that I already felt like I knew most of the people. I have not left the place yet and don't seem to do much other than cook. Not that I mind that. Plenty of pretty things to look at and I can cook whatever I put my mind to. Hazards of the 'verse that I can live with."
*Jeremy started mixing up a batch of cookies.*

*She laughed at that*
"Well, you're missing random acts of senselessness, violence, sex, and bursting into song at weird moments."
