*Beatrice shrugged and sipped her wine before nodding in approval.*
"The wine is fit for my lips and the work for my back. It does my heart ease."

*Jeremy began plating the quail, slicing the meat to not only make it easier to eat but to show off the rice and cranberries inside. The delicate sauce gets drizzled over the top and the hearty but sweet potatoes placed to the side. He garnishes each plate with a sprig of mint and smiles, satisfied with the presentation. He brings each plate quickly to the table, setting it before the ladies.*
"Anything else I can get ya'll?"

"You should be careful about easing your heart to much. I mean Paris is great, but it also has less great things roaming around."
Like psycho's, rapists, killers, vampires. Psychotic raping killer vampires.
*Marijke's smile faded a bit.*
"A girl has to watch her back around here."
*Marijke turned to Jeremy and smiled like an happy little kitten.*
"Oh thanks, it looks delicious. I am totally good for."

((So hungry.))
*Beatrice didn't look pleased at the thought, but appreciated the advice. At the sight of the food, even she couldn't resist a smile in Jeremy's direction.*
"It would seem to be most satisfying."
*She turned back to Marijke.*
"Hath thou suffered much at the hands of such villains?"

"Enjoy your meals and let me know if there's anything else I can do."
*Nods and heads back into the kitchen ((where he goes on autopilot because I've got stuff to get done)).*

*Marijke shook her head.*
"I only met Dracula, he's a real pain, but I still love him. Besides it's in his nature and stuff. I wouldn't want him any other way, because then he wouldn't be him anymore.''
*She realized she was rambling a bit.*
"Anyhow, there a couple ... well a lot of dirtbags around. My chara-.... I mean my friends have had the misfortune of meeting a couple of those. They told me about them, so I'd just be careful miss. Or learn to be friends with the folks in the infirmary."

*Beatrice looked a bit appalled at what Marijke was saying, but she tried to minimize her disdain.*
"I am thankful for you council and will regard it well. Are there any places that one might be free of such villains?"

"I'd say the church, but I wouldn't really count on it. I do know where you really shouldn't go. The cellars of the Opera. Seriously, you go down there and it's like rape and murder central."
*Marijke sipped from her coke and started to eat from the delicious meal Jeremy had made.*

*Suddenly Beatrice wasn't that hungry. She picked at the food but looked troubled.*
"Doth not the magistrate patrol the area, should it be known as a haven for such atrocities?"

"We don't really have any magistrates around here. Unless someone creates Judge Turpin, but you know he won't help at all. Maybe I should create a cop."
*Marijke was lost in thought for a moment, before she turned her gaze back to Beatrice.*
"But I am making Paris sound really bad, now aren't I. It isn't, it's actually quite fun. You just have to watch your back a little. Just like in the real world.''

"Eh, no. I mean, it's different from where I come from."
You know the real world. Where vampires don't go around raping folk. Or people burst out into song. Or talk like they're from an Shakespearian play..... No wait, scrap that, I know someone who likes to talk like that.
"Very different."
*Marijke got a tiny bit homesick. She missed her home. Her nice soft couch, her tv, her computer and her friends. She even missed her mum, dad and annoying older brother. She gave a very Sue-y sigh, one that had some kind of emotion in it. Probably wangst.*

*Beatrice nibbled at her meal.*
"And doth it lie far then? Your home?"
*She looked up at the sigh and saw Marijke's melancholy. Her brow furrowed sympathetically.*
"Why are you out of measure sad?"
((Sorry, it's one of my fav lines from the play.))

(( )) *Marijke shrugged.* "It is very far. Like very, very far. And I have no idea how to get back there. That's why I'm sad. I'm probably never going to see my folks again, or my brother." *Oh man, up until now she was having a blast in the 'verse. But suddenly she felt depressed. How was she going to get home eventually? Marijke faked a smile, she didn't want to depress Beatrice too. And perhaps smiling would work to change her emotions, she was a Sue now after all and stuff like that worked at Sue's .... right?* "But that doesn't matter, because ... well Paris has everything to offer. And it's great here! And it's ..." Not home.((*snickers at the wangst*))

*Beatrice felt that she had brought up a sore spot with the girl and didn't know how to make it right.*
"Ho, now...I did not intend to provoke your displeasure. Speak that which will make amends, and I shall make quick work of it."
