*Marijke guided the woman into the restaurant when she suddenly realized that they hadn't really been introduced. Not that Marijke thought that it was omg!rude or something, but it was rather unpractical.*
"My name is Marijke, by the way."

*She laughed at her own foolishness.*
"Beatrice."
*She sat and looked around.*
"Doth thou oft partake of this establishment?"

"No, I don't go out much. It always ends in me getting beat up until I am inches away from dying."
*Marijke said far too brightly as she sat down across from Beatrice.*
"How about you? How long have you been in Paris?''

"First time for everything."
*Jeremy steps out from behind the counter not that he was listening to the two upstairs and smiles.*
"What'll it be ladies?"
*He sets a loaf of fresh bread on the table.*

*Beatrice looked at the woman slightly appalled, but she did not make a fuss over it, so why should she?*
"I am but newly arrived a day. I have been put to work in the laundry, and it seems well enough."
*She lifted her brow as the man sent the food down. She pursed her lips disdainfully, but had to admit it was pleasant enough to see a man in such a...servile position.*
"What fare are you offering, save this?"
*She gestured at the bread.*

*Marijke suppressed an urge to glomp Jeremy and squee something along the lines of 'ZOMG! Boy on the 'Verse!' because she might freak both him and Beatrice out and instead smiled at him. You know, one of those smiles you'd see a crazy person give you.*
"Ooh, I'd like the Manchester Quail. I never had quail before. And do you only have period correct drinks, or could you score me a Diet Coke?"

*Beatrice looked at Marijke like she was a crazy person. Maybe she was. After all, she didn't know her.*
"Aye, the quail sounds lovely. But...perhaps some wine, if you're able."

*Offers Marijke a quick wink.*
"That and the non nasty real stuff too."
*He grins and nods to them both.*
"Excellent choice ladies. I'll be right back with your drinks."
*Jeremy steps away, poking his head into the wine cellar to select something that would go well with the quail.*

"So you're new to Paris. That's cool, I am sure you'll love it here. So where are you from?"

*Returns to the table, a glass of dry white wine and a chilled mug of bubbly diet coke in hand. He sets the drinks in front of their proper owner, bows slightly trying to no intrude on any conversation. Jeremy moves off into the kitchen to work on the meal. It was always easier if they ordered the same thing.*

Messina ..... damn, why did I never pay any attention in Geography class.
"That's cool, my dad is just an accountant. But doesn't that kind of make you rich? So why do you work at the Opera? Not that I think working at the Opera is bad or anything, I like working myself, it's just that .... people don't really work around here when they're rich."
*Marijke hoped she didn't upset Beatrice or offended her. She was just, you know, curious.*

*Beatrice arched her brow. The girl was nosy. Or perhaps just curious.*
"I liketh not that mine uncle was forced to bear me. He suffers enough that he hath no son of name. It seemed he might do well to have leave of me for a while, to focus on Hero, his child."

"That's nice of you."
*Marijke shrugged and sipped from her Coke. It was nice and cold, she should ask Jeremy how he managed to get it. Every time she tried to summon it with her self-insert powers she only got that kiddy stuff that tastes like liquid sugar.*
"So, what do you think of Paris so far?''
