He shrugged. "Well, it's always just been my sister, my self, and my mother. We've shared her tiny opera dorm since I was born, and... well, we don't do much, really. Most of the time I read and Annette flirts."
((My sister says not to forget the bow. So I'm going to put the bow on when I'm done wrapping it up. Yo.
(She told me to say that. G'night!)))

((lol Goodnight!)) Really? *She cocked her head, looking genuinely curious. And cute, of course.* I must admit that I'm surprised you aren't out flirting too.

He blushed a bit. "Well, you see, I'm just not...not very good at it. I always freeze up. I take after my mother's side of the family. Either quiet, nerdy, or both." ((We'll just have him not know about his grandfather's general suckiness. ))

You're pullin' my leg, shug. *She tapped the end of his nose with one finger randomly and because it's fun* You'd nevah be able to convince me that you're quiet or nerdy.

He rubbed his nose. "Please. When the other little boys were outside playing in the streets, I was cooped up in my room reading Shakespeare," he said, grinning.

*She giggled lightly* That jus' means you're smart, shug. Nothin' bad about that!

His grin widened at the compliment. "Well, it's about the only thing I do. I mean, it was an effort just to start talking to you," he confessed sheepishly.

*She smiled at him* Readin' is excellent. But why would I be difficult to talk to, shug? I hope I'm not intimidatin' or ugly or anythin'.

He smiled back. "No, it's because..." he paused. "B-because you're pretty," he finished.
Here we go...

*Her mouth fell open into that funky smile that people do, like this.* You really are jus' too sweet, shug. *She nodded in a way that was very flirty or innocent, depending on how it was interpreted* And I must say, you're quite handsome. ((That's a really bad picture of me. But that's how I smile sometimes when people compliment me. ))

((I actually keep my teeth shut, but I turn really red.))
"It's because I'm Michael Cerveris! And don't forget it, bitch!" He looked down a little, smiling despite his general embarrassment. "Thank you," he said. He searched his mind for something else to say, but his senses were rather dulled by those same hormones that make other boys his age wear Axe, so he simply looked at her with a friendly expression.

((I didn't realize I did it until I saw pictures. And then I looked around Facebook and realized that every girl who went to either one of the private schools I attended do it too. It's weird.
And Axe lol. ;D Actually, if he wore Axe I would have to kill him. My brother used to spray it up the vents from his bathroom, and guess whose room is directly connected?))
Hmmm. He wasn't kidding. How can I swing this? *She rested a hand casually on his knee, in a friendly sort of way* Anytime, hon. But you must hear that all the time!

((I freaking hate Axe. ALL the 13 and 14-year old boys wear it. -_- ) He stiffined a little at her touch, but then relaxed. "Well, from my mother, but that hardly counts. Besides, it's usually followed by, 'just like your father,' which I hate." He shook his head, laughing.

*She giggled, leaning forward slightly and squeezing his knee, almost unconsciously.* Aw, shug, saying that you look like your father is a huge compliment, I'm sure! Who is your father?

"Ehhh, I'd rather not talk about him," he said, avoiding her gaze. "He's rather infamous in your country, let's leave it at that."
