*He grinned and turned to her.* "Sounds like a duo to be remember throughout history," *he said playfully, holding his head up high.*
"Though... that agnomen piques my curiosity for I have yet to meet a kinder woman than you. Why the Ice Virgin?"

*Lady Éowyn laughed gently and looked up at him.*
"I had a lot of suitors in Rohan. And I turned them all down. Because they did not appeal to me. I am a faithful and loyal person. When I fall in love it will be forever. I can only give myself to a man than can give me loyalty, faithfulness and love in return."

((I just did a project on Nat King Cole! ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) *Starts singing 'When I Fall In Love'*)) "Lady, In a restless world like this is, love is ended before it's begun," *he said, sadly.* "And I have come to expect nothing less from a virtuous lady as yourself."

((That's my favorite song! Which is why I chose it as a theme song for Éowyn, who is very idealistic.))
*Lady Éowyn placed her hand over his and looked warmly at him, trying to brighten him up a bit.*
"Isn't that a bit harsh?" *She asked gently.* "In a restless world, persons like you and I will have to take care of the continuity and the stability."
*She looked down a moment, then looked him deeply into the eyes again.*
"How did you get your nickname, my lord?"

((Heee~~ Sorry for shamlessly jacking the lyrics. XD))
"Why us? How are we different from all else that live in this restless world?" *he asked rethorically.*
*Faramir's serious mood lifted and he smiled at her question.* "'Tis a long story, my lady, full of tiresome naivety and shameful cowardness," *he said as a warning, slightly embarassed.*

*Lady Éowyn smiled and looked into his eyes.*
"Because we represent the world as it used to be, my lord."
*Then she stroke his hand gently.*
"Please, my lord. Tell me. I told you about my nickname."

"My brother dubbed me affectionately so when we were younger, back when I was with the tower guard. I was thirteen and Boromir, eighteen: ages of great stupidity when it comes to boys. My father stationed me in one of the many towers in the city. He fitted me with a uniform and helmet and I was determined to valiantly guard my post. But I soon realized that the task appointed to me merely sounded glorious for it was a time of relative peace and neither action nor glory found its way to me. So, I would sit there reading books of far off lands, dragon slaying, dark magic, princesses waiting to be rescued but that too became droll. Words and imagery could not entertain the mind of an impatient teenager for long.
"One day I was sitting high in the tower feeling as if I’d surely die of boredom when I spotten stones near my feet. I picked them up and began throwing them into the streets below me. Much to my dismay, one of those stones hit someone– the daughter of one of my father’s stable keepers. I hid and watched as her spilled pails of milk ran between the cobble stones of the street ad her dark hair mat with blood.
"That evening, when dusk coloured the skies in many warm shades, I returned home to seek wise counsel on the matter. My father was too busy so I spoke to my brother. He told me to go apologize and repay her for the pails of milk for it was the right.
"I immediately mounted my horse and rode over to their humble dwelling. After speaking briefly with her parents, I walked over to their barn and found her tearfully milking a cow. I was terrified. I did not know how to speak to cheerful women much less crying ones. But I swallowed my fears and approached her. She was a sad looking slip of a thing with long brown hair, and green eyes. Pity stirred my heart and I asked her why she wept. She said that her father told her that she could not go to bed until she filled the three pails she had spilled but her fingers were stiff and the cow was spent from the earlier milking.
"Stammering, I confessed that I was the one that caused her injury and that I’d gladly pay for the milk she had spilled. She said she wouldn’t dream of accepting money from me but I insisted one repaying her.
"I spent the next few days helping her milk her cow and delivery the milk to the market. She was a joy to be with. She had a quiet laugh, a bright smile and a gentle spirit with which I soon fell in love but I was too young to realize it. I began acting very strange: my hours at home were suffocating and filled with heavy sighs. My brother, of course, knew that there was something wrong and he interrogated me. After I reluctantly revealed everything, he had a simple diagnosis: I was in love.
"I denied such outrageous allegations out of pride, mostly. But it was true. Boromir asked if I had kissed her and I vehemently denied it, telling him that I would never do such a thing without a lady’s explicit consent.
"That was when he called me a prude and, in fact, continued to call me a prude for quite some time. He was in no way discreet about my nickname and would take perverse joy in publically humiliating me with it."
*Faramir sighed.* "And that is the history of my nickname."
"We were so... stupid," *he said, shaking his head with a smile.*

*Lady Éowyn listened carefully. For some reason she suddenly felt an aversion against servant girls with long brown hair, and green eyes. Her eyes darkened and she focused on letting the frost in her heart grow. With an emotionless face she asked silently, without looking at him.*
"And... did you kiss her?"

*Faramir looked at her for a moment then lowered his head, a shy smile spreading across his face.*
"No," *he said simply, shaking his head.*

((Thank you ;D I hope Faramir will be jealous if anyone tries to check up Éowyn. Like in the stables, for instance? ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) )) *Lady Éowyn blushed and looked down. She didn't understand why she suddenly felt like strangling this girl she didn't even know. She fought the feeling back and asked quietly, almost shy.* "Have you ever been in love with someone? I mean... really in love?"

"I don't believe so. My life hasn't given me the chance to fall in love, reallly."

*Lady Éowyn blushed and looked down, not knowing what to say, but still trying to keep a conversation.*
"Maybe... you'll find someone? Some day?"
*Blast! Her voice sounded too hopeful. This wouldn't do. She stood and turned away from him, to hide her embarrassment.*
"How about we go to the stable and get our horses, and take a ride through the park?"
