Charles decided to take a day for himself in the city.
He hadn't really been out in to the city since arriving in Paris a few years previous. His priority was establishing a school in this time period and he'd spent all of his energy on that for so long that he didn't ever have time for anything else.
It didn't help his restlessness that Erik was gone.
He'd told no one that he was leaving, but none would ask why.

Treszka was happier than she'd been a long while. With Zachaire, she'd found the kind of love she'd been searching for, and in Marie and the rest of the Bristow household she'd found the kind of comfort that she'd lost years ago--a family. There was one last, nagging thing that followed her around, something that she could never seem to ever find a way to fix: her aimlessness. Thanks to her unique familial ties to Rudolf, she didn't want for anything, and thanks to her powers, her physical needs were a lot less than they would've been if she'd been a full human instead of half der Tod. There was also the fact that she had no idea just what being a half-being meant for her beyond having powers. Would she live forever like her father? Have a human lifespan? She hadn't aged much over the past few years, that much she knew. But she had no direction in her life, and it bothered her.
She teleported into the secluded courtyard, a place that had been so consistently empty that she'd started using it for her little trips into town. She didn't see the man in the wheelchair, arriving with her back turned to him. As far as she knew, it was just her and her endless wandering.

Charles was surprised to see the girl teleport a ways from him as no one had even come through in some time.
He watched her for a moment before deciding to speak up "Miss?"

She nearly jumped out of her skin at the voice, and spun around to see him there. He was the only other person here, but...he had to have seen that. There was no way that he hadn't. She had no idea how to react.
"Y-yes?" She said, her heart racing.

He smiled softly "Don't be frightened, my name is Charles Xavier and if you're wondering if I just saw you teleport in here, I did."

She couldn't stop herself from wringing her hands.
"Oh, god! Nobody's supposed to--it--it could be bad--" she babbled.
Wait, Charles Xavier?
((I actually forgot that she reads comic books. This is gonna make things interesting.))

"It's all right, it's all right" he put his hands out in a calm gesture "It's not something I'm not used to."

He was a bald older man in a wheelchair, but---
Holy shit no that's impossible...but then Tony Stark exists, doesn't he?
She took a deep breath.
"I...sorry. I just...it's always been a secret."

"Treszka von Wittelsbach." She said. The lie about her last name was so easy now that she barely even though about it anymore. It was automatic.
"And, ah, I think I've heard of you before."

"You may have heard of my school Miss Wittelsbach" he moved forward with a smile.

Oh yeah, totally that not because of the X--no, shutup stupid he's a mind-reader.
She plastered a smile on.
"Oh, yeah, I've seen it in the paper, they talk about it sometimes."

"Do they?" He sounded surprised "I wasn't aware that our little academy had gotten any press."

"It's mostly to brag about how good the school is," she said with a more genuine smile. It actually was a legit school after all. It just happened to have super-powered people in it.
