Luxord smiled, and glanced up at the clocks. They were getting close to the end now, they'd both exchanged quite a few blows but Luxord had given more than he'd taken. However he'd grown quite bored with this quickly. He wanted to kill the man now, get it done with but he wouldn't break his own rules. He'd win first, then kill him perhaps. He smirked, "How about we make the penalty for losing this game quite steeper? I'm sure your eager as I for this to end."
The X's and O's were changing faster now, hardly staying on a single card for more than a fraction of a second. He pointed behind him, "Aim true, now."

"I thought the penalty for a loss would be death. How do you presume to make that loss even steeper?" he inquired, curiosity piqued despite himself.
His bright blue eyes flickered from the X's to the O's and back. After some hesitation, he finally swung his arm and released several shards of ice, one of which managed to pin down an O.

The cards behind Luxord exploded, shard of them tearing into Luxord's coat before he disappeared, and re-appeared behind Adrian, sighing.
"Does no one listen when I speak? Are my words so forgettable? I said that if I win your punishment might lead to death, not that it would be death." He swung his arm forward slicing through Adrian's shoulder, and then shifted to the side as he mocked, "And I only meant for that particular mini game. You are so very lucky you won."
The clocks in the corner were still ticking down, but the gap between the two had narrowed drastically. Where before there had grown almost a minute's difference, there was now barely 15 seconds difference. They were nearing the end very quickly now.

Were there other things than death?
Adrien stumbled forwards and grasped his injured shoulder, from which blood now streamed in small rivulets. He bit back the pain and straightened himself, unconsciously taking note of the clocks in the corner.
"What's the next game, then?" he growled.

Luxord smiled, and started hatching a plan. He'd begun gathering power, a simple spell that could help him with the game easy and quickly. But first...
"How about a straight-forward match? In the half a minute or so we each have to spare, we try and hit each other as many times as is possible. It matters not how much damage is done, simply that it is done. Agreed?"

"...agreed," Adrien grunted without really knowing what he was getting himself into.

Luxord smiled cruelly, and crossed his arms over his chest, "Then let the game begin, in earnest."
He shot both of his hands out and a deck of massive cards spread across the grass. He almost wanted to send a smile to where he knew Aideen was standing, knowing she'd remember this trick but refrained. He took an almost casual jump into one of the cards, disappearing and reappearing behind Adrien just to show off and say, "Try and keep up."

What a jest.
It was dizzying attempting to keep tabs on all of the cards that lay spread out before him, least of all on Luxord's various movements across the arena. Adrien shook his head, turned, and began to pursue Luxord.
