The day was perfect.
Unnaturally perfect.
And Aideen loved it.
She held on to Adrien's arm with a grin that said Life couldn't get any better.
"Thanks for agreeing to this, I really needed to take a break."

Admittedly, it was a bit warm out for Adrien's taste but he was sure he could accommodate, especially if it made Aideen happy. It was one of the stranger changes that had come over him since their move to the World of Wonders, almost like he was no longer perturbed by the sunlight and didn't require the cover of the clouds at all times to feel relatively normal. If he'd ever been 'normal,' that is. He glanced down at her and something like a smile passed over his mouth.
"You work yourself too hard, my love."

"As I've been told" she smiled and squeezed his arm "overworking has always been a problem for me. I enjoy it, I enjoy honest work."

He smiled and nodded, as if it were the answer he'd been expecting to hear.
"Yes, I love you." A pause. "And you love me."

The day was perfect, and Luxord hated every moment of it.
But at the same time that very emotion -hatred- brought a smile to his face. To be able to feel again was both irritating and a relief. He could smile, he could hate, but he was no closer to having his heart back.
And he hated that too.
He also decided that he hated that thick hooded coat that they all wore, and so instead decided on a white button up and slacks (he kept the boots though, those were stylish). He sat behind a folding table with a deck of cards, shuffling them in various complicated ways. The cards flew and twisted under his fingers as he manipulated them, and yet he barely looked down at his hands, instead favoring the distance with his stare.

Stopping mid stride, Aideen blinked.
She felt her bones tire and her eyes grow heavy.
She wasn't tired, or fatigued, but frightened, if only a little bit.
A familiar feeling was in the air, that same feeling she'd felt the night she fought that card sorcerer.
"Somethings wrong" she took a few steps forward, only to stop again. This time, because she saw around the bend and in to a clearing "You".

Adrien felt a disturbance in the air around her, almost as if little shimmers of heat were radiating from her already fiery frame. He narrowed his eyes and quickly followed Aideen's gaze to the source of her discontentment.
"Who is that?" he growled.

Luxord looked up and leveled a bored look at the fiery red head, whom he recognized with a glance. He smirked, "The woman with no heart who tried to burn my cards. Such a small world this is."
He stood, springing the cards between his hands casually and regarded the two standing before him, "Though to be fair if you'd managed to hold your poker face, that little confrontation probably could have been avoided."

"Knew? Perhaps I knew you sometimes come here, but not when. Time, you see, is the key to this little game." Luxord spread the cards in his hand like a fan and held it in front of his face, like he were trying to pick a card. He barely spared a glance in the man's direction instead favoring Aideen with his best withering glare, "As for what I want, you can't give me. It's winner take all, my dear."
