((Terribly sorry for my unexplained absence! School just got the better of me. )) Adrien slightly inclined his head in understanding. "Then, let the game begin."

((Double here, stupid friggen education... Who needs it? XD))
Luxord gestured halfheartedly behind him and the clocks started ticking down. He smiled humorlessly, "I'd actually started to like this place before I discovered that it made my chest ache and my emotions run."
He started twisting the giant cards around the two of them, faster now, "I will tell you only this one thing, since I am a fair gentleman: to win the Prize, you must win the contests. To win the contests, you must play the game. Standing there, is not an option." A line of cards passed in front of Luxord and he disappeared behind them.

((FOR SERIOUS. The world shall be our education!))
"You haven't yet explained what sort of game we will be playing--merely its rules and its objective," Adrien stated, narrowing his cold blue eyes in confusion. The first chinks in his armor of ice. "You said yourself, 'Whoever runs out of time first, loses the game.' Run out of time doing what?"

The cards swirled around, every once in a while flipping so that Adrien could see the card faces, but he could hear Luxord's voice echoing around the clearing, and he was laughing lightly, "Would you believe you are the first to actually ask these questions?"
"Look at the clocks, my dear man. They tick down for the both of us. The game is everything we do in the confines of this area. The contests are whatever contests we hold within here. For now you must simply find me; a fine start to a game don't you think?"

"A fine start," he mumbled under his breath. Then louder, "Ready or not. Here I come."
Adrien decided to test the strength of the man's cards and, with a flick of his wrist, sent a few shards of ice careening towards them.

The one that Luxord was in was actually two cards to the left of the one he attacked. When the shards pierced the empty card, it flipped around showing a picture of fire and promptly exploded. With it being a distance away from Adrien it didn't do him any damage, however. Luxord laughed, "Perhaps you should choose with more care?"

Adrien didn't respond, only closed his eyes and swung his arm in the general direction of where he thought Luxord's voice was coming from. The previous shards of ice gave way to larger, sharper fragments that hailed down on the cards there.

Luxord dived from his card, flipping until he was out of the radius of the icy hail. Pausing only long enough to regain footing, Luxord leaped forward with great speed, wielding his cards like weapons, slicing at Adrien, then retreating.

A large icicle materialized in Adrien's hand and he flung it, piercing the cards and shredding them to bits. Despite his maneuver, one of the cards had razed the skin on his face, and Adrien impatiently dabbed away the blood welling there, his temper growing ever shorter.
"Only a coward hides himself!" he bellowed.

Luxord laughed as he appeared behind him, slicing upwards with his cards and then back flipping away, "True, but whoever wins lives and gets to lie about the game afterwards."

The cards careened towards Adrien and had nearly reached him before he had the sense to raise his arm and defend himself. A thick wall of ice tore from the ground at his feet and continued to loom ever higher. Rather than deflecting the cards, the close proximity merely ensnared them in their frozen embrace.
Close call.
"You will have to do much better than that!" he exclaimed, making a circular motion with his hands and setting what appeared to be a snowstorm tornado in Luxord's direction.

Luxord smiled at the man, who is so much more fun than Aideen was. He disappeared into a hole of darkness, and as he did so summoned five gambler nobodies. He hadn't felt the need to call on these guys in the last fight, and was in fact unsure if they'd even come.
The Nobodies came from the front while he appeared at Adrien's side a medly of cards flipping around him and slicing at the Ice Man.

Admittedly, it became increasingly difficult to maintain his self-composure, given the fact that there seemed to be no end to Luxord's tricks. Adrien couldn't easily swerve from the line of fire this time, although he did manage to dodge past a few of the cards, and consequently was struck to the ground. Various gashes lined his suit jacket as well as his face, and he was forced to divest himself of his outer attire and cast it away to one side. He scrambled to his feet, the first signs of desperation tracing his movements, and stood facing Luxord, making a note of his new company out of the corners of his eyes.

Luxord waved one finger at Adrien, "Tut tut, standing there like you've all the time in the world. Clock's ticking." He pointed to the large clocks at the end of the field, Adrien's now significantly less than Luxord's. Luxord grinned then, summoning up four cards behind him, "Lets play a different kind of game now." Snapping his fingers, a series of three X's and an O started flickering between the four cards.

Adrien narrowed his eyes in suspicion and coiled himself to spring at the first sign of unwanted movement.
What did Luxord have up his sleeve now?
