Percy turned and examined Raoul from his girlishly fluffy hair to the tips of his boots, and seemed to decide that the Vicomte was found wanting indeed.
"Devilishly lucky, eh, Vicomte?" he drawled, examining one flawless cuticle. With a sneer in his blue gaze, he glanced at Raoul.
"Could've been much worse...fortunately for you 'twas only Mme. Giry and I!" he laughed, the droll, inane sound grinding on the ears of the unforunate Vicomte.
Smiling a little, Percy strolled past him and stopped at the door way.
"I'd be careful, old chap. Seems as though most of the ladies here are not what they seem, eh?"
"Zounds!" he proclaimed, looking at his pocket watch.
With a flippant smile to Raoul, he added, "Must be off; never good to keep a lady waiting."
And then he tucked his watch into his vest and quietly quit the room.
