Peter smirked at Erik and took his kniife and flipped it in the air. "fine, now you can 'let' us go. I have to admit though, you were a disapontment. I expected more from all the stories."

*Erik towered over Peter.*
"One does not crush a bug underfoot," *he growled,* "when one can brush it aside."

*Shadi stepped forward then, a smile threatening around her lips.*
"And one does not make threats," *she said, staring up at Erik,* "when 'one' doesn't intend to carry them out. Does one?"
*He wasn't any scarier than her father. And she knew he wouldn't kill her. And if he wouldn't kill her, he wouldn't kill the people she was with. It was a naive certainty, but it certainly shored up her bravery.*

((peter just wants a bit of excitment, and there's two reasons he doesn't grow up. he goes back most nights and plus, he's peter pan, he never grows up.))
Peter smirked up at Erik, adults never scared him, they were all caught up with this and that and it always weighed them down in every aspect.
Peter stepped back and pushed off into the air. "come on Shadi, River. we won his game so lets go."

*Shadi turned to Peter archly.* "Go? But we just got here, didn't we? I thought we were having an adventure."

Peter shrugged. "yeah, but he's no adventure, just some loney old man who thinks he's the king of the world."

"Sad little king of a sad little hill."
*River added. She fixed her eyes on Erik and for second or so she gave him a sad and understanding look, then she turned to Shadi and Peter and grinned.*
"We could go to the chocolate factory."

*This would not do at all. Erik's hand flew, and a noose settled around Peter's neck.*
"Do not meddle with me, boy. Erik might not kill you, for the sake of Nadir's spoiled child, but he does not shun Death's company."

"Hé!"
*River glared at Erik.*
"Let go of him! He was just telling the truth!"

Peter whisled and Tink flew down from above and a sword dropped into Peter's hand. Peter severed the rope with a clean swipe of the blade and pulled it off his neck quickly before taking off into the air. "you poor patetic man. you really think that was impressive?"
Peter flew past Erik quickly swating at his back with the flat of the blade before darting back out of range. "nooses are a pittiful toy, if you want to settle this than take a sword."

*Blanchette did not like things out of order... this opera house place? It was getting on her nerves.
Humans did not fly. Not where she lived.
And she did live here. at least, she did now. being a soldier for the rare state that the humans called 'sanity', she jumped with the grace that only a cat or erik could and, with a yowl to shatter eardrums, leapt onto the flying boy's foot and latched with her claws.*
((*thanks any higher being that peter pan flies around barefoot.*))

*Erik had not expected the flying. The light dropping a sword in the boy's hand was one thing, but there were no wires holding him up. Erik knew from illusion. This was the work of a master.*
"You ask for a fair fight, when you fly through the air?" *he sneered.* "Erik did not ask for you to come here! Or for you to be impressed by him."
*He was regretting not killing them right off. That foolish girl-spawn of the daroga's loins stood stupidly close, and he closed one bony hand around her upper arm.*
"If you value the life of your overeager friend, you foundling, you'd best get him away from me."
*Erik was surprised, again, by the yowl that accompanied the flying feline shape. He allowed himself a small smile beneath his mask. At least some creatures had sense.*

*Shadi felt Erik's cold hand upon her, and she shivered slightly as she looked up at him. He was nearly quivering with anger, and his eyes blazed fiercely behind his mask. But she knew he could have killed Peter before the boy knew what was happening. That noose could have snapped his neck at once.
But Peter was flying about with a cat on his ankle. She wasn't sure how she was supposed to handle that.*
