He stretched his back again, he was beginning to think he was going to have to see a chiropractor. He could do most of it on his own but he was tired of having to.

He smiled a little conspiratorialy "Well its a hard habit to break, but there's enough people out there still, and god this is gonna sound cheesy, fighting the good fight, they don't need my middle aged ass anymore."
It was still difficult to consider but he had a life now and it wasn't hard to imagine the future anymore.

As he said this is was evident he really meant it.
