"Fondue?" Jess laughed "A genius for sure!"
She took a drink "I wonder how much Tony realizes he's just like his father then."

"I'm not going to lie, the first time I met him I had some pretty specific flashbacks. It wasn't a mirror image but it wasn't that far off either."

"Was Howard as good looking in person as he is in the photographs?"

Steve pursed his lips "I know what you're searching for and you're not going to get it, I only had my mind on one person then and didn't have room for anyone else."
He leaned back and sighed "But if you must know the pictures didn't do him justice, he always pulled some stupid face to upset the photographers who only had so much film and of course he always wanted to go last."

Jess grinned "Of course he did."
She thought about the thousands upon thousands of useless photographs the paparazzi would have of Tony with a golden grin but his eyes were crossed, or with just enough of his middle finger up that no magazine would print it. It was worse with the two of them, just last week they'd gone to dinner and they spent the whole way from the car with big foam fingers in front of their faces with little mirrors attached, then Tony signed them and gave them to some kid at the restaurant. It wasn't to make a statement, they didn't give a damn about the paps, but to have a little fun with fame.
It hadn't been that way with Bruce. They drove everywhere in a big black car, waved softly to the paparazzi and disappeared inside wherever it was that we went. Occasionally Bruce would do something silly to keep his billionaire playboy status, but it was never like buying pizza for paparazzi or kissing puppies.

Steve shook his head "This conversation hasn't really been linear has it?"

"It never is with me" she grinned, mouth slightly open.

"Feeling better?"

"Not really" she puffed on her cigarette, blowing the smoke out the side of her mouth before stuffing it out in the ash tray "but you're a breath of fresh air."

"Thanks" he smirked "I think."

"No, no I'm okay" he barely finished his own "it's not as if the caffeine does anything for me."

"That must be terrible, can't get drunk, caffeine does nothing for you, you probably couldn't even get high if you wanted to."
She squinted her eyes "What about medications? Do you get headaches?"
I bet he does but he's a macho macho maaaan

"I get headaches occasionally, but they tend to go away about as quick as they come on" he smiled "and I may not be able to do any of those things but I also don't really miss them?"
He thought about the last time he tried to drink, it was right after he'd lost Bucky. He finished the bottle he'd found and then some, once he realized there was no effect he'd hoped for a placebo affect.
But there was nothing.

"I'd miss being able to drink" Jess leaned forward on her elbows, giving him a comical sigh "there is nothing like unwinding with a glass of something hard and bad for you."
