He smiled, crinkling his brow for a second "I think so, I don't know. I've never been very good at sitting still."

"Me either" she took a puff from her cigarette, holding it lightly between pink painted lips. She'd only just started wearing lipstick and although she didn't think her lips were right for the product, she was still trying. Last week she'd seen her picture in People with the caption Jessica Cartwright caught out and about on the town, Stark-less wearing red lipstick!. She giggled and put the magazine back at the 7/11 she was buying her cigarettes at.
"Any news from Ms. Wilde?"

"None, she's gone silent" he took a sip of the now fairly cold coffee and sighed "except for news articles with pictures of her standing unhappily behind Lex Luthor."

"I don't trust her" Jess replied firmly.

"None of us do, she's a spy" he laughed "at the same time what other choice do we have? Going off on our own isn't something that's worked out in the past and although groups like the Minutemen and the Watchmen were mildly successful they were small time. There had been rumor of a sort of league of heroes started by Superman but-" Steve shrugged "-what matters is that somebody is doing something. If it comes down to it and we can't trust Ms. Wilde, she's got a whole group of people you don't want mad at you, coming after her."

Jess smirked wanting to say something about butts and spandex, but wasn't sure if Steve would appreciate the humor and instead went with "I'm not sure if I'd mind that so much."

Steve flushed and looked down at the table with a laugh "No you didn't and I did, thank you for the... experience."

Jess laughed and tapped her cigarette on a ashtray "It's not like that was the first time you'd seen something like that I'm sure."

"Of course not" Steve replied "but, it did happen to be the first time I'd seen it in such... detail. It definitely helped re-affirm a few things so thank you."
He looked up with a smile "Do you do that regularly? Hand out pornography to people you barely know?"

"Any answer you'll ever need answered can be summed up in this sentence: I'm engaged to Tony Stark."

"Howard?" Steve raised his eyebrows with a laugh "Howard was a character, he uh, he wasn't afraid to speak his mind at any moment in any situation."
He felt a tug of nostalgia and looked down at his coffee "He was a genius though, it was hard to keep up with him. I'm not sure how many times I had to tell him to say what he was trying to say in plain English. I mean I'm no dummy, but his mind just didn't work like other peoples and it was always working." Steve looked up and laughed "He taught me what fondue was."
