Her expression turned faintly sad as she eyed the dark outline of the Arc d'Triomphe in the distance.
"And where I come from, the old relics are all gone."

He sort of tilted his head at that, "Well from my perspective they had yet to be built." He looked over at her, "Have I failed to mention I was born in Italy in 1459?"

Her eyes widened, but only momentarily--she'd been in this world long enough that such things weren't as strange to her as they once were. Besides, she herself had been time warped.
"Ah, then we're both out of our times. I come from New Chicago of 2212."

Ezio's eyes widened, and so did his grin, "A strange time indeed! I can barely fathom what technology I've seen in the day since I awoke, I can't even fathom what your world could be like."

"It's amazing, and I miss it sometimes, but..." A frown replaced the small smile.
"Well. My world is a slowly dying one. Here, here...everything breathes life."
She laughed, not an unpleasant sound but she sounded a bit out of practice with it.
"Everything old is new again, to me."

Ezio smiled, "Yes... to be truthful, I regret now not paying more appreciation to my home while I was there. It is hard sometimes to enjoy the time you have, however brief."

"I read about Italy. It sounded like a wonderful place to see. I'd always thought of traveling, to places far away, but I never thought I'd end up traveling through time."

"I've traveled all over Italy, this is true," He smiled, a little homesick because talking about his home. There was the constant reminder in the back of his head that he couldn't remember half of his life, if he did indeed lived to be older than 40, "Whereabouts did you live, if indeed the countries are the same in your time?"

"New Chicago is in Cetus, which is...far away."
Like, another planet.
"Too far."

He tilted his head slightly, "Hmmm, neither name sound familiar, time must have changed quite a bit," He gave an amused grin, "As I suppose it ought to in the span of 700 years."

"Yes. Everything is so different, here, but I'm used to it."
She glanced at him curiously.
"What will you do, now that you're here? What you used to do?"

Ezio rubbed his chin thoughtfully, "I haven't had the time to think of it much."
He shrugged and looked out over the city, "First I must find out what happened. I can remember up until a certain point, but evidence shows that I lived passed that point. Once I am finished with that, if my enemy still exists here than I shall continue to fight them."

Michelle nodded. It was logical.
"That's what I'd do. I'd want to know everything, or as much as I can find."

"Thus my reasons for going to this... New York," he smiled, "The new world, and such. From my time, this place had not even been discovered. Have you been there before?"

"No," she said regretfully.
"By the time I was born, the city you mentioned had been long gone."
Or most of the cities in the whole world, but she'd rather not throw out the depressing details of the future to someone who likely wouldn't have to see it. Why burden anybody with that knowledge?
