It would not be like riding in Northern Italy on his own horse, but although he did not see it that way, riding was the closest to a truly recreational activity he had.

Doom blustered for a while about the guardsmen and the castle, almost to himself more than to Tybalt. He was hungry, but not enough so that he would dismiss his guest, who was obviously in a poor mood.
He changed gears abruptly. "How is your health, Tybalt?"
