Ailwen stayed silent as they made their way through the woods, still processing information. Her stature and expression were not closed-off, but friendly wouldn't really be the word to describe it. There was a lot to process.

The area started to feel more friendly, more familiar, and as they walked Amala realized they were headed in a direction that would need...well. More than just an explanation. She let herself fall back until she was walking in step (or as close to it as she could with someone who had such long legs) with Amras.
"Amras...we're halfway to Paris. How do I explain that place to them? I don't think they have anything like it in their world."
She was differing to the tall elf's more worldly experience. Surely he could think of something.

Maya glanced back in curiosity when Amala fell back, she didn't think anything more of it as she studied the various plant life they were walking past. Almost none of them, save for a few of the trees, looked like anything she'd seen or read about in Thedas. She was incredibly fascinated by it all, and could only wonder just what sort of effects she could get out of them if she used them in a spell. At several points in time, it had taken a bit of willpower for her not to stop and take some samples to study later.

Zevran was usually the type to simply sit by and let things go on as they pleased. He hadn't been allowed any strenuous activity so he was stuck guiding the stupid pack horse. The gorgeous Amala was leading them, the adorable Edie was being oh so bashful, and the stoic Amras didn't seem to like him much. So he was looking at a very low chance that he was going to bed any of them tonight, which was boring.
It had been rather quiet then, leaving him to either study their surroundings or their companions and he was getting quickly tired of studying foliage and not seeing any traps or assassins behind trees.

Amras crossed his arms, placing a soft hand on his chin.
Explaining Paris, to a group of travelers, from another place entirely (or dimension, he was yet to be sure), would be a small feat. Hell, explaining Paris to his compainions was going to take a miracle, they understood it well enough, Amala he was sure learned all about it from her father, but Edie, was going to look just as much a fish out of water as they others.
"It might be pertinant of us, to simply tell them the truth. Trying to give an false explination for what they are about to encounter, would be wrong of us, and harder to do than the truth. I figure we make camp, before we completely leave the woods, and explain it over dinner."
It seemed simple enough.
Of course the moment they encountered a car, he feared this Ailwen might attack it.
He began to think of the way he'd tell it, once again becoming a bard of sorts for his companions.

Edie who managed to find herself at the back of the group, as all the others seemed preoccupied with either each other or their surroundings, sighed softly.
She'd spent the entirety of their short time traveling together, staring at the ground and taking peeks up at Zevran, both to make sure he stayed still and to stare at him.
She was young, but not so young that her mind didn't travel to places that would embarrass her if she spoke of them. Of course, she'd embarrass herself soon enough, it was nothing that she saw, but something she knew. Edie had a way of saying something odd, or naive, or rude or- well, Edie had a way of simply embarrassing herself.
She prayed Amala would stop her before she did.
Especially in front of Zevran.
So dreamy...

Ailwen, too, noticed Amala talking to Amras. They would all have words once they made camp, she was sure, though the conversation seemed serious. Her stomach roiled in hunger and she hoped they'd stop soon.
Zevran was in no danger of moving under the watchful gaze of his friend, who was doing her best not to fuss. She didn't even need to fuss. Her look as she plodded along next to the horse meant she would not hesitate to fuss if he gave her any reason.
He wasn't the only thing she was watching, though. Someone else was sneaking glances at Zevran the way he had once seen her do at Alistair. She wondered if Zevran would notice--he was decidedly less obtuse than Alistair, and it appeared he might be interested. On the whole though--Maker, she knew that feeling. At least the girl had her friend to help her through.
Her first loyalty was to Zevran, but she did not doubt she'd be telling him to be careful that evening.

Zevran sighed and leaned sideways towards Ailwen before whispering, "Is she still staring at me? Because if she is, she is going to make my attempts to preserve her innocence very difficult indeed."

Question answered. "Stop leaning, you'll open it up again." She looked up at him. Evidently the conversation was coming before dinner. "And you be careful. I support you in all your romantic choices because you are my best friend, but you've seen another pointy-eared teenager give that look."
Besotted was probably the best description.

Zevran grumbled and straightened, pouting a bit before he replied, "You should know by now that I do not do romance, though I understand that others do. There is no room for such things in my life, so it is not be me who should be careful."

She rolled her eyes. "First, I'm well-aware and that's why I brought it up. Second, I'm still not buying your whole no-strings love-em-and-leave-em i-don't-do-romance thing."
She was of the firm opinion he was a secret romantic with a set of walls so thick even he didn't remember what was inside anymore. The right person would sledgehammer them down, but they'd have to do it his way--Edie didn't look like she was ready for the casanova Zevran liked to think he was.

Amala nodded at Amras' words. She'd known she was right to bring it up to him, first.
"We'll tell them over dinner, like you suggested. Although the gods know it would take forever to explain everything. Hopefully we can give them a good idea of what to expect."
The area ahead of them was opening up a bit, and Amala quickened her pace forward.
"I think...ah! Here's a place we can stop. I'm sure everyone is pretty hungry by now."

Maya hadn't even noticed her own hunger, but when Amala mentioned it, her stomach grumbled as if on cue. Well, at least she'd kept herself occupied until now. Besides, once dinner was over, she could really examine some of the plant life around her and pick a few to study for later.

Amras quickly unpacked his tent, along with Amala and Edie's and began setting them up. It was something that was second nature to him, in fact, the whole feeling of being on the road, he'd done it for so long.
100 years
He sighed and thought about his little cottage back in Lorien, it was the first time in a long time he'd finally felt like he could settle down.
Now here he was again, questing, trying to save Lorien or something.
For a moment he wondered where Wild was, but it was fleeting, and went back to setting the tents up.

Ailwen smiled gratefully to Amala and began unlatching tents before Zevran had even descended from the horse. She was clearly comfortable with camp-making, though second-nature would be taking it a bit far. Over the past few years, she'd had little time to rest from the road. Their three tents--hers with the sigil of the Wardens painted on the doorflap--were up in little time. Their typical camp-setting schedule was interrupted by, of course, the fact that their day had been cut short by battle, and the fact that Zevran could no longer help.
Finnbarr, thankfully, came through as always--he appeared to be making a pile of some kind of pigeons, adding the one or two he could carry then returning to the woods to retrieve the rest. He whuffed in pride when he finished and she rubbed behind the hound's ears, praising him quietly. He took one for himself and trotted off to eat it where they didn't have to hear or see. Ailwen sat down and began to de-feather them.
