"A thorough investigation," she agreed, "would be the most practical of solutions."
Eyes flicked back to meet with his before settling back on the trail before them. The sound of the ocean was beginning to grow in volume, and she knew the trees would clear out before the cliffs soon.

"I wholeheartedly endorse and encourage such things."
With that rather knowing smile resurfacing, he fell silent as they approached the sea.

Her horse was used to the sudden drop and was willing to get quite close to the edge. Kat, distracted now, let out a satisfied little sigh. "I missed this place," she admitted, climbing off her mount. She took a deep breath of sea air. "And you can see the whole harbor from here."
It included what used to be the dock and boathouse, the beach, the cliffs on the other side...

Dismounting, he surveyed the scene, nodding to himself as he took in the entire beach and environs.
"I can see why your home was built here. One would be hard-pressed in resisting taking advantage of such a perfect place."
He glanced over at Kat.
"Had I been in charge of it, I would have liked to've placed the palace by the sea."

"You've got all of England's coastline to choose from... but this place, this is ours," she teased. "Can't have it. I grew up at Wilcombe, actually, up in Yorkshire, but this is the family home. I spent summers here with my cousins..." She laughed at herself. "But what about you? All I've been doing is talking about myself."

"I'll read the dictionary; see how interested you are then," she teased.
((chaste clifftop kiss?))

In lieu of a further response, Henry leaned in an kissed Kat softly.
((That would be a yes.))

She hadn't even known he was that close, and there was an initial moment of--well, it wasn't exactly surprise, but she hadn't been expecting it either. It was nice, though, once she adjusted. The whole butterflies thing, and the wind and the sound of the ocean and the feel of him against and around her--she closed her eyes and let herself go for just a few seconds before pulling back.
"Evidently extremely interested." But it wasn't her usual tone--no, this time she was breathless and smiling.

"Extremely would be a good way to put it," he said lowly, slowly pulling away--reluctant to break the contact he'd initiated.
"Though I think that not just a reading of the dictionary would be enough to keep me in check."

"I don't think you're the one we need to worry about," she said, flush blooming against her cheeks as she rose to kiss him again. This time she placed one hand on the side of his face and leaned in.

Resisting the urge to smile into the kiss, he leaned in, almost with a bit of urgency, not holding back as much as he'd done with the previous one.

She pressed back momentarily, then pulled away mischievously.
"Taking advantage of a poor country girl; it's shameful," she chastised, though her expression and tone were nowhere near reprimanding.

"I think said country girl could never be in danger of such a thing," he said, voice a bit husky.
"I'm quite convinced she could hold or own against anything."

"I wouldn't say anything." Her tone changed, a little softer. "I seem to be doing a terrible job fighting back the advances of wicked kings this week." The words were silly, but that was just the wall she kept up. Turn everything into a joke. In this instance she seemed in earnest despite the words.
