"It is a matter of life and death." Amala says, her tone incredibly solemn.
She was not really lying about that--to her, indeed, it was.

He turned his gaze toward her "I imagine this quest centers around you eh?" He raised his eyebrow "Come inside please."
((Sorry Amras's backstory is that he's spent a long time traveling, adventuring and writing books. He's got the wise adventurer elf thing going on, even if he can be a little silly.))

*Heldir had offered a polite bow at the introduction, but otherwise kept silent. These matters were not for him to discuss. He studied the elf from a respectful distance, not wanting to intrude on their conversation. Heldir wondered idly how old he was. Fifty years did not seem long to an elf, but that did not mean that it had any relation to his actual age. And with elves, one could never tell. Not that it mattered, really. If the man would come, Heldir would welcome him. The elves he had fought beside previously had had a noble blend of calculating reserve and deadly accuracy. They could probably use both on the journey ahead.*

"Well, after a fashion," she admitted, following him.
"But there is more to it than just me."

"There always is" Amras smiled as he closed the door on a pouting Edie that had tried to follow.
"I imagine you'll be in a hurry, so I'll make this brief. Tea?"

"Yes, please, to both."

"Have a seat" he poured her a cup and then himself one and brought them over on a tray "I can take you in to Paris and bring you back."
Setting the tea down he sat across from her "Tell me everything, I understand that time is of the essence, but I imagine you'll be able to condese it."

As she sat down, Amala showed visible relief when he said he could show the way to Paris. His insistence on her explaining...everything...brought her up a bit short. Of course, she couldn't tell about her designs upon the throne, but there was at least one thing she COULD elaborate on.
"Well...before Edie and I set out, we ran into this strange man who had something to tell us..."
First explaining the stranger and her impressions of him, Amala relayed the prophetic poem.

She wasn't telling everything, but it was enough. He knew however as she explained the poem that he was going to get pulled in to this, as much as he'd try not to.
"I will help you, give me 5 minutes, please wait outside."

Amala grinned.
"Awesome. We're all ready to go, so five minutes it is." She said, standing up.
Everything seemed to be going so well. She almost felt as though she could fly, at this point.

Amras couldn't see the future, but he was all ready regretting his decision.
In exactly five minutes he was locking his door, sending a carrier pigeon to a friend to watch the house and water the plants with word that he was unsure when he'd return.
"Shall we?"

"The honor is mine, sir." *Heldir offered in kind, bowing formally. His voice was a bit soft, as if though he was at home on the road or in battle, the more civil matters still left him a little uncomfortable.
He glanced from the man to the road laid out before them. He was ready to get to it, that he might serve his purpose in a more functional capacity.*
"If you are all ready." *He offered gently, not wishing to press too hard.*

Amala nodded.
"Aye, we're ready. If you would lead the way, Amras...?"
