He kept his attention on his breakfast until he finished, keeping his eyes off of Lee's unfamiliar new form (still it was strange that he hadn't noticed!) and then got up to return his own dishes to the sink.
"Yes, I understand that, which why I asked when you think you will be home, I can make certain that I'm here to meet you."

Lee turned around and embraced Jason, pressing up against him with a smile. "I shouldn't be more than four hours, if I get a hold of Jira-kun quickly. Then after I set a few things with him, I will be home." Even if he didn't get a hold of the boy, he'd have to send him word by messenger to have him watch the shop.
"So if you are home before me, or don't get to leave - you might want to draw yourself a bath and relax a little, love." He smiled again and leaned up to give the man another kiss, this time much warmer than the cute little pecks.

One arm went around Lee's waist, lightly, with instinct and he blinked at the kiss, not exactly returning it, but allowing it and holding the smaller man to him for a few moments before letting him go and clearing his throat again.
"I should set to work, then. If you'll be gone so short a time, I'll endeavor to have a lunch ready for you when you get home."

"Mmm, you're sweet, you know that?" And Lee meant it. Though he was a little stoic and distant, there was a sweetness underlying the gruff exterior that Lee had managed to ferret out and keep for himself, at least.
"Just don't be too bored without me," he said with a smile again, pressing a lighter, slow kiss to Jason's lips before he would leave him for the day.

When Lee was gone, Jason limped into his study to sit at his desk and look over the case--several smaller cases, actually. Incidental reports that had been filed under a single heading in the prefecture office: PALAIS GARNIER.

Lee made his rounds and got in contact with Jirahasuke, subtly not-explaining that he would be busy and away from the shop for a while, and that he would need the boy to cover - and to find a Gally--Gallymammoth... the crystal requested by the Doctor. The name was on paper in the cabinet. Any projects he took on be paid in full commission to Jirahasuke for his time at the store. Also, he was not to let the Inspector know that he was away, just merely "out," trying to make it seem like there was some sort of present for Jason in the end, to give Jira something to "hint at" should Jason be wondering where Lee was.
It was all a pain to take care of, but Lee managed to work through it all within the few hours he had, coming home sometime after noon, a bit sore from sitting in a cab all day. When he returned to the yellow house, he called out to Jason to discern his location, silently glad he had not run into the demon monkey while out.

The Inspector was still in his study, having never made it out to the "scene" of his crimes. He had instead spent the time constructing a sort of flowchart and time line for the events that took place within the opera, seperating things into catagories to try and discern what exactly was going on.
His eyes were getting a bit tired, so he was grateful when Lee called out, and blotted his paper quickly, tucking it away and pushing up from his chair with a wince--he'd been sitting too long. And damnit! He'd forgotten lunch!
"In here." he gruffed back, limping into the hall.

Lee hung up his coat and hat, shutting the door behind him to greet Jason with a warm embrace. "Didn't spend the whole day pining for me, did you?" he joked, kissing the inspector's weathered cheek.
"Have you eaten? I'm famished."

He smiled a bit and tucked the man's cheek with uncharacteristic tenderness.
"I'm sorry, I forgot your lunch...we could go out if you like, or I could fetch something and bring it home."

"Mmmmm..." Lee reveled in the tender moment, not wanting to let Jason go now. "It's all right, mon Inspector, you are a busy man. But I don't know if I should let you out of my clutches again, now that I have you," he snickered, wiggling a little bit in Jason's embrace.
"Though it would give me time for a quick bath and a change of clothing..." he said thoughtfully.

"Very well." He let the man go and limped up the hall to the door, pulling down his coat and pushing his hat down onto his head before pausing and lifting it off again, squaring his shoulders and turning back around, putting his things up again.
"I believe there are sandwiches in the icebox from last night."

Lee smiled and turned back around, his hand coming to a rest on one hip. "Oh, yes..." The Chinaman was a bit perplexed, wondering what suddenly brought this on. If only he could pick the man's brain for a day...
"Then you and I can eat and... both clean up together?" suggested Lee, watching Jason's face for that adorable reddish tint.

It didn't disappoint, and Jason's ears went bright, his cheeks pinked up and he cleared his throat, looking over Lee's shoulder when he nodded his assent.
"It would be enjoyable." He hoped, rather than terribly uncomfortable.

Lee smiled and went over to his dear Inspector and took him by the hand, walking with him to the kitchen. Still the domestic man of the two, he fixed them both a warm tea and a couple little millefeuilles for a dessert, setting everything up in his usual decorum before he sat beside Jason, serving his drink.
It was almost beginning to feel like that whole mess with the Spirit World had just been some sort of waking nightmare - already becoming a past memory.

Jason couldn't help but smile a bit--even though Lee's sometimes feminine behavior (such as the way he fixed tea and set the table and made deserts. And dressed and painted his face) put him off a bit.
Still, he sat and enjoyed the light little lunch, pleased enough with the quiet and company.
