((It's okay.))
It was safe enough now, thankfully...as they headed in, Midna closed the portal with merciful ease. Her eyes were closed and she tried to control her breathing. Weakly, she gestured to the stairs. "It's...not a different planet. Just...a dimension."

*Beatrice leaned back a moment, indignant raise of her brows quite characteristic.*
"My lord, I think you shall find that it be not the best of times to shun assistance, if truly you are suffering."
*There's wasn't really a question in it, though it wasn't a command either.*

The firmness of her tone caused Richard to look up, his gaze somewhat addled.
"You would help me, lady?" he asked, sounding gruff and disbelieving.

*Beatrice rolled her eyes and sighed heavily.*
"Were I not, what other purpose would have me kneeling in filth?" *She answered snarkily.*
"If, of course, I should have your leave to do so."

Richard blinked, stupid and confused.
"Nay, ye need not my leave," he said slowly, not wanting her there and yet not knowing how else he was to get out of the filth. And away from the devastation of his own loss.

*Beatrice shoved her arm beneath his, trying to hoist him up, making it quite obvious that it was not her ideal.*
"Then you'll not make a fuss for it then. Come along." *She struggled under his weight, wondering what bizarre notion had taken her.*

Oddly, Richard was able to propel himself awkwardly along (leaning heavily on poor Beatrice), all the while thinking himself completely undone and crippled. His mind wandered in a haze of vague shadows and dire certainties.
"I've no where to go," he mumbled. "How the mighty are fallen..."

"Mighty indeed." *Beatrice winced under his weight.*
"A mighty sack of hot air." *She grimaced.*
"Though a lucky one, to have found such a fool as I."

He was too miserable to do much more than grimace at her. He was king, the devil take him! Who was she to mock him in his hour of need? What had he done to her, besides give her the consideration of his attention when she was merely a lowly laundress?
Richard had about enough sense of self-preservation not to mention any of that aloud.
"You chatter as if I am one of your washer-women," he muttered. "Get me to a place of safety, and you may abuse me all you wish."

"A washer woman with a roof above her." *Beatrice muttered, but managed to get him hobbled down the road to the small room she rented without too much lip.*

"Upstairs. My...bedr..." she mumbled, finally giving up and falling asleep, her breathing rather shallow.
