He took a breath to center himself.
The price was... well, he would be expecting top-quality instruction and no more highly efficient German sarcasm. Would she be horrifically offended if a stranger offered to shake her hand? Or bow or whatever the social norm of the moment seemed to be, which... in Paris, seemed to be highly variable. Better not risk it. Kurt informed her of his range, with no small measure of pride, and adjusted his hair again.

"Morninks are fine. Usually rehearsals aren't ahnteel the afternoon, and I heffen't auditioned for anything yet." Those in her profession had a distressing tendency for sloth. She, however, woke up at dawn every morning.
"Are you doink ennythink now? Ve coult start eef you aren't busy." Also if he wanted to.

"I'm ready to start work -- would you mind if I took my coat off?"
It wasn't really that warm, but the wafting scent of fried food wasn't helping.

"Oof." He peeled off his scarf and peacoat, hanging it up tidily only to re-don the scarf. Should've gotten a coffee or something beforehand, but they didn't seem to have Starbucks in Paris. What a pity. But regardless, Kurt was glossy and confident.

Kurt took a breath and did as she suggested, quite comfortably.

"Try to relax, your larynx is up end you're still singink like you're talkink." This wasn't said sharply, just frankly.

After a suitable amount of time spent warming up--consonants, vocalizatons, etc--she moved him back to the arpeggios. "This time try singink them forvart. It's goink to sount odd to you, but thett doesn't matter." Both because it was just an exercise, and because she didn't care how he wanted his voice to sound; he had come to lessons to, if not change the sound, at least explore other possibilities.

This process was ruffling him a little, and he was perhaps less perfectly comfortable than when he began. Didn't she hear him? That was a soprano voice, Goddamnit.
"Could we... try a little higher?"
